A little on the pricy side, but portions and food quality more than make up for it. One of, if not the best, vegan food restaurant I've ever been to. Every item they make is delicious. I especially love the focaccia, the cubano, and their chocolatine. Excellent Latin American food as well

Pulse cafe is always worth a stop when I’m in the Northampton area. The food is amazing (get the chick’n and waffles), the staff are friendly, and I love their grab and go/ grocery options as well. Such a gem for reliably amazing vegan food in central MA.

My husband and I stop here every time we are in the area and we are never disappointed! I am obsessed with the Buffalo pizza! It's the best vegan pizza I've ever tasted and worth the hour and a half drive from CT. Everything we have tried here is delicious and this is coming from someone who is not vegan. I just appreciate great food!

Wow, this place is amazing and I wish I lived closer. Everything I've gotten has been fantastic, but my favorites so far are the chicken salad (unbelievably good; my wife and I got four containers to go last time and we've been slowly rationing it), red lentil and cream of vegetable soups, and buffalo chicken pizza. This is a vegan heaven but the food would also be wonderful for non-vegans.

Love this place! Every time I go to Pulse I never have a bad meal. The pizza is excellent: patrons can choose between a gluten-free or sourdough crust. The menu is plant-based, so my wife and I get the Buffalo 'chicken' pizza on sourdough crust. It's fantastic. The soups are great too, and they rotate the selection. One time, ordered a bowl of corn chowder that i.pressed both my wife and I. Sweet, salty, little spicy; just very well balanced. I highly recommend Pulse, especially if you have dietary restrictions of any sort. Pulse serves great food...it just happens to be plant-based.

Best smoothie I ever had!! They were all out of breakfast pastry 😔 but that encouraged me to think outside the box—TIP: their rice pudding makes an outstanding breakfast and pairs well with the Pomegranate iced tea. Great service; I loved that even though I was getting takeout I was encouraged to wait at a table, and my order was delivered to me there. This was my first visit but I’ll definitely be back!

A whole plant-based (vegan) restaurant and cafe with really good choices and a comfortable atmosphere. We absolutely loved it!

A stand-out among vegetarian and vegan restaurants! Everything made in house, plus pizza! Options for everyone and a kudos for the oat coffes.

Lots of veggie options in spacious, calm setting with good views outside of the little birds and farmland. Especially liked the homemade cashew cheese on the pizza - very rich dollops

Stopped here during a short trip out to Amherst and it was well worth it. My husband and I had the Pulse Burger and All American Burger—both with black bean patties and all toppings/sauces. Would definitely recommend both. The burgers were tasty and the sauces on both were delicious! Our favorite, though, was actually the roasted potatoes side. Not sure why we can’t make them like that at home…but on the top few we’ve ever had list. Topped it off with the Almond Joy smoothie—super smooth / not icy at all and the almond flavor really came through and it wasn’t too sweet. Will definitely come back when passing through again!

I was so thrilled to find this place along my travels on this day. Very much into holistic nutrition and Pulse is well stocked with a variety of healthy eats. They are right off the main roand far enough in land with plenty of parking. The place is inviting and spacious with a fireplace and good seating. Staff was very friendly and to the area was completely clean down to the bathroom. There is grocery shopping to be had here and I ended up stocking up for my road trip here instead of supermarket. I got a smoothie as well and hot plate. And pre-made juices that were in fact fresh and delicious. Don't get me started on the sweets snacks here. They are unique and divine. I would stop here again

Awesome place for vegans. Everything I ever tasted there was very good. The atmosphere is casual. You order your food at the register and they deliver it at your table.

Fresh vegetarian/vegan foods & friendly services. The atmosphere is great & can be too loud if you sit near the Juice bar.

I find it strange that you don’t offer whole grain bread/buns as an option

4 elder men enjoyed the food immensely. 3 I got the mac and cheese I got the Margarita Pizza amazing they said.

This is the only vegan option in the Valley. But thankfully it's a good one, run by Seventh Day Adventists. The waitstaff are cheerful and friendly, and the food is consistently well made. For the main course the menu items would be considered, I think, similar to an American style chain such as Chili's or Applebee's, perhaps. Mostly burgers and pizza, but with plant based patties, and cheeses, etc. This is probably why it seems to be popular amongst non-vegans as well. I usually get the Tex-Mex burger which comes with home fries (potatoes), and I've always gotten it with the impossible patty (there's a couple other choices, including a home made black bean version). The smoothies are probably the best in the Valley too, now that Haymarket Cafe has closed .Although too pricey for me to buy very often. Same with the desserts, probably the best option if you don't want to spend a lot is the cupcakes, and they experiment with seasonal flavors too, like the pumpkin spice, for ex. The atmosphere is very nice and spacious with the fireplace and the piano, and is always clean, bathrooms are well maintained, etc. Their pizza oven looks top notch, so I'd like to try more of the pizza items from the menu. I may update this to five stars once I've sampled more of their pizza menu options, but for now I'm giving four stars (mainly due to the menu being mostly your typical American chain restaurant style fare, although in all fairness I'm sure it's much better done at Pulse) This is your only choice if you want vegan in the valley, but luckily it's a good one.

Good, clean, food. The baked good are especially good considering that they are vegan. There are lots of options for folks on special diets. Everything is incredibly fresh. The service has been excellent every time. The food is not fancy. It is well executed hippie food.

Get the chicken and waffles on Sunday brunch. Get the gravy and syrup. Cashew gravy is incredibly good.

Food is always delicious! I have dreams about the brunch chicken and waffles. I bought some gluten free cupcakes from here for a GF friend and she claimed it to be the BEST GF cupcake she's ever had! The prices are a smidge steep, but you're paying for quality, freshness, and more often than not, a serving of food large enough to eat from twice.

This restaurant was very atmospheric and had cool lighting. While I didn't eat anything yet as I ran out of time the design of this place was very impressive. The stove had a very quaint vibe reminded me of open fire stoves of the past.

Great service and atmosphere. I will definitely come back! It took me a dozen visits before writing this review and they don’t disappoint! Keep it up! 👍

Excellent food! I have been here 3-4 times and the soups are consistently exceptional and the salads are incredible! Staff is super nice and the atmosphere is really comfortable! A+!

Great place to go for anybody who likes food, Fantastic selection of entrees, snacks, smoothies. My calzone tasted like it came from my favorite Long Island pizzeria (but nut cheese will never replace cow cheese). They need to open a chain

This place was excellent from the time I walked in til the time I left. The lighting to the soft music playing in the background all a thumbs up for me. My turmeric latte and soul food bowl with Tofu was amazing!! The way this dish comes from a African American culture but is now made healthy...there's no way to give anything less than 5 stars!

I adore Pulse, and stop by often when I'm in town. The vegan foods are delicious, the location is spacious, and the staff gracious. The selection of grocery items is great too, and full of hard to find goods.

Been here a couple times and I love it! Large, welcoming location. The food is spectacular, definitely recommend the southern comfort bowl. I've also tried their pizzas and they are winners! Their cashew cheese for the pizza is divine.

My first time dining at Pulse Cafe! A friend suggested it for her birthday. It was definitely worth the travel 👍🏾I had one of their flu shots to build my immune system, since I just returned from traveling the week before. Its very clean and spacious, it has a store inside where you can purchase their products. The food was delicious and all plant based. I choose the Southern Comfort bowl (mac n cheese, black eyed peas, soy BBQ drumsticks, cabbage, collard greens) and a Turmeric Latte with Agave nectar. Highly recommended to anyone who is vegan. I am looking forward to visiting again 😊

This is a nice vegetarian restaurant with meat on the pizzas. The food was delicious and I staff were friendly and professional. Parking is plentiful and accessable for the customers. I am looking forward to going back again soon for more pizza.

Love this place! Almost like a vegan Panera, but far superior. Wish they had one closer to where I live

We took a venture to Pulse Cafe. As a cafeteria space it is more child safe than many of the other restaurants we could otherwise attend with a two year old. I was focused on my toddler when we were ordering so I didn't notice that the juice we picked up was 11.00. It was Cold Pressed Juice. I am still tasting ginger and beets and my stomach is still churning unhappily as I write this. I'm not above buying expensive juice but I do expect it won't make me ill. Next I tried the Buffalo Chicken Pizza (gluten free mod) and found myself with a mouthful of slimy cashew paste that I assume vegans get excited about. A blissful reprieve of tangy familiarity (Buffalo sauce) saved me from spitting it out and I even went in for a second slice, determined to give it my all. Unfortunately my stubborn choice only reinforced my discomfort. The least offensive dish we tried was the Mac and Cheese, though what it lacked in offense it also lacked in character and flavor. I liked the steamed broccoli. When we expressed our dislike to the establishment, they refunded us the cost of one dish. It was fair but still felt unfair. We did, afterall, eat some of it but also felt as though we should have been compensated for our participation. Dramatics aside Pulse Cafe manages a clean space that is open and airy with plenty of seating. Their staff is friendly, though possessed of a malaise of unhappiness that hints at something else going on behind the scenes. The food, however, lacks heart and care. If you want heart, care, flavor, and soul go to Nourish Wellness Cafe in Northampton. If you want to vainly cling to a meat-eaters convention made "guilt-free", go to Pulse Cafe.

Never tried plant based food but the smell when u walk in will make u want to try it

Pulse Café deserves a full five stars for many reasons! First, their food, prices, space and ambience is excellent. As a non-vegan/vegetarian (but does eat plant-based often), I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious their burger was! I would have never known the difference If I was not made aware ahead of time. I have made meat-alternative burgers myself but it is worth a visit to Pulse to taste the difference! The space is clean, relaxed, calming and has many different seating options. There are spots where you could have a more intimate setting and spots where you can feel connected to the patron community. Not only is the physical ambience (from lighting, decor etc.) comfortable but the staff add to the ambience with their positivity and what appears to be true teamwork. Staff seem happy to be there, happy to answer questions and look like they are enjoying each other's company. I would also like to share that, in my role as a Teacher, brought a group of middle school students on a field trip here! Pulse not only was accommodating to the needs/learning styles of middle school students but truly blew the experience out of the water! Students were not only so engaged by the incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and kind staff but were also exposed to another style of learning/skills. Students were able to cook a meal for themselves, learn the importance of plant-based nutrients and have some fun while doing it. To top it off, students were surprised with a photo booth and a gift bag (containing coupons, aprons etc.) To the Pulse Café Team, keep on sharing your light, positivity and joy with the community! Pulse Café is truly a bright spot in the Western MA area!
