Hated had to ask for refund since they no longer swap out your meat. That was the only reason we went plus its not posted anywhere that we could no longer change out our meats. Got our refund and also a $15 gift card. Wont be going back gave away the gift card.update: 5/23/19 Now since my last review they have went out of business I knew it wasn't going to last after what we experienced .

This was the 3rd and final time my family will visit this Sonny's. To start the food was excellent. Sonny's bar b q has always been our favorite bbq place. This was all about service and the kitchen. We were seated and our drink order was taken. Not too busy but there is plenty of wait staff. About 5 minutes later our drinks come. 10 minutes after that or waitress takes our order. At this point everything falls apart. Our waitress forgets our salad plates. We remind her twice. So our dinner comes out, then she remembers our salads. At this point we tell her we do not want the salads, please take them off the bill. I also point out that I have only received 1/4 of a chicken instead of a half. She tells me I ordered 1/4. I asked her to check her ticket. It says 1/2. She then tells me she wrote it down wrong even though it shows the 1/2 chicken price. To top it all off since we have been seated we have been asking for utensils. We now have dinner with ni utensils. So I go to the hostess stand and grab 4 sets. As I said earlier the food was great this was all service issues. Now closed.

The restaurant closed permanently. My last visit was really horrible the day before they closed.

Sonny's was just ok. Food could have been hotter.

Service was fine and food was decent however the restuarant was gross. The air condition out puts had mold growing on them. The salt shakers, all 5 that I tried were caked in the lids and rusted shut. Would not recommend going here.

Should have walked out when the smell of mold smacked us as we walked by the salad bar to our table. Cockroach (dead) on one of the booths. Told server, said hed get it immediately....it was still there when we left. Service was very slow for only 3 tables of people and food was horrible. Coleslaw was rotten, pork was cold and dry. Will NEVER go to the Sonny's on Hwy 60 again.

Don't waste your time, service is awful. Waited more than 15min and no one ever came to table to take drink order. Normally at a busy place it would be understandable if that happened. There were maybe 6 tables seated in the entire restaurant. Can't speak for the food, but will never be back due to service.

The waitress took 10 minutes to bring my drink after she took the order. I asked for cole slaw and corn on the cobb. She informed me they were out of corn on the cobb. So I ordered mac n cheese. When my order arrived, she brought me mac and cheese and a side of baked beans. She said she would be back shortly to check on me. I realized I had no eating utensils. I had to waot 10 minutes to het utensils. They ran out of salt, so no tables were able to salt their food to taste. When I requested a reorder cause I ordered all you van eat sliced pork, it took 15 minutes to bring a reorder of garlic bread, more pork, and cole slaw.

Excellent food (strange being sonny's)

I ordered the $15 sampler dinner. The chicken, beef and pork were terribly dry. I couldn't eat it but took it home to make baked beans because the smokey flavor was great. The green beans also had great flavor but i couldn't eat that because they were terribly overcooked. The mac n cheese was overcooked and dry, making that incredible. Who ever heard of dry mac n cheese! I couldn't possibly ever go back. On the bright side, 3 different ppl came to my table to ask if all was good.

Went there for the all-you-can-eat ribs come to find out we can't substitute Meats no more they don't advertisers on the menu so it was a complete waste of trip Menace sucked cuz I was really hungry LOL

Great food and can't beat the drive thru service. Had the Big deal brisket combo and it was awesome.

Food was good and tasty.friendly family atmosphere.they had exactly what we came for the pulled pork sandwiches and it was cooked well.

The salad bar was good & the service was outstanding. This is one of my granddaughter's favorite restaurants. Perfect for her 13th birthday party.

It would be better if their managers would keep an eye on the food. Observers bring me out french fries are overcooked. Very disappointing.

Greatest brisket I've ever eaten!

Pork and Mac and cheese were AMAZING!! Fries were warm (at best). Service was slow, rude, and seemed to have better things to do. Had to go find my own sweet sauce, since the waitress was no where to be found. Had to go find my own salt since the salt at our table was all stuck together. All in all, great food, probably the last time I'll be there!

I am tired of all the people trying to steer me to dirty, tasteless "local" bbq joints that give me a bbq sandwich that is all bun, a tiny scoop of cole slaw, and some fries, for 12 bucks, but somehow are the "best" - Ok, Sonny's is a chain but who cares when the food is always good, always great prices and portions, and the restaurants always clean. Service could improve, but if you are getting super fast service anywhere in Brandon that is worth eating at, on a THURS FRI or SAT, tell me where that is?

Nice job on the sandwich, but it was a long wait

Sonnys has had a bad run of luck with employees. But this trip was pretty good. I am hoping they turn things around. Returning it was much worse. I recommend anywhere else but the Brandon/TPA location. It's time to close this place.

Love the food. Having the construction there is very inconvenient wish we had one in Riverview

I like the barbecue ribs and barbecue pulled pork and pulled beef and brisket brisket sandwich awesome the day I would have given you five stars but the day I was there your air conditioner was not working it was very hot inside but that's okay I know that was just a temporary thing so the next time I come by you'll get 5 stars because I know your AC will be working....

Place is gross !!!! Kitchen has lot violations.

They got my order wrong. The coleslaw was slimy usually it's the best around and then left out the cornbread after waiting 15 minutes in the drive thru. I went to the store on North Demabry and it was so good and clean but this one is by the house.

Great BBQ! TERRIBLE service but the manager made up for it with gift cards!

The portions have become smaller and smaller over time. and this particular sonny' s has a sheet ton of mold growing out off the air vents and in the napkin baskets.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt it necessary this time. There were huge flies throughout the dining room. The carpet was beyond dirty. I got the salad bar, the potato soup was just canned potatoes. My son loves Sonny’s, but I won’t return to this location.

Went for 50th anniversary special...sliced pork. It was the nastiest meat I have ever been served....FULL OF FAT!! Asked for some that was not so fatty and second plate was just as bad. No better! I told the waitress it was still bad. Nothing else except an explanation that the sliced pork is ALWAYS fatty. They wouldn't take my $5 coupon nor take dinner off my bill.

Took 30min to get a to go order. There may have been 5-6 people in the place. There were more employees than customers. Crazy not sure how they survive.

Dry meat and pretty bland. I haven't been to Sonny's in a while before my last visit and now I remember why. Just ok, nothing special.

Usually I like going to Sonny's but this visit wasn't good. First of all they got my order wrong ,then the food was cold, and after we got our drinks we had to ask twice to get straws. The last few times we've been there haven't been that good.

20+ minute wait in the drive-thru...

we went for all you can eat advertised special on Wednesday 05/09/2018. I would not recommend unless you have at least a 2 hour lunch period. My wife & I Ordered the special that took about 20 minutes to reach our table. About half way through our meal we requested an additional order of chicken. We waited and waited and waited ..... finally the server informed us that the order was being processed, we waited another 10 minutes or so, still no chicken. The server then informed us that it would be another 15 min or so before the chicken would be ready. At this point we requested our check and left, NEVER TO RETURN.

Very bad attitude drive through receptionist... not friendly... ribs that we ordered tasted bad and smelled worst. We asked for wet wipes and the lady dumped a lot in our hand which turned out to be dry inside with no moisture at all.

Daughter had a spider web on her plate and when went to leave there was an ant crawling on me and on the seat. The food was just okay, and we felt sick after we saw the web and the ant.

Good food good service. Restroom a little messy. Staff was pleasant Resturant was looking a little run Down.

I've tried to give this place a chance by multiple visits, however the quality isn't impressive.

I have been here 2 times, and i will not be going back. The problem is the service, the food is good. The servers need to be trained and supervised. We sat at our tables both times over 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Mixed up orders, no drink refills, and no salad plates til I got up an asked.

The salad bar was ok. Staff was nice, they have gone downhill.

Normally, the food is great but this time most of it was fatty and made me sick.

Place usually is dirty takes forever to get your food they have been shut down three times for roaches. And the manager came and sat down at my table in order to take our order and she was clearly a drug user. She does not know how to run a restaurant how does a barbecue place run out of barbecued me? This is happened on multiple occasions and is an ongoing issue somebody else needs to step in to run this restaurant because I had a lot of potential. I love Sonny’s restaurant but I refuse to go here because of everything listed above.

The cashier wasn't attendant to Dr Thur I have to wait at least 5min before she open the window. Food was cold and very poor presentation

Always get great service and great food at Sonny's and it's a place I can go and get my beef brisket at as well as good chicken with their all the right sides.

Take away order - perfectly prepared, quickly done, in and out without wasting my time or theirs. The server even said a sincere Thank You for the tip I left. This visit was perfect in every way that mattered.

Your prices have gone way up, supposed to be a casual dinning cost me $35 for two ppl and we had water.

Not bad, my pork was a bit fatty, which some people may prefer. Good for the price and service.

A few of us ate here just a few days ago and wasn't impressed at all. There was only four of us and only three other tables during the whole time we were there and the service was terrible, we had to ask our waitress multiple times for refills on our drinks and our food was cold and gross. Everyone I have talked to in the area said that this place is terrible and that they have also been shut down a few times by the health department. Wouldn't recommend this place. Worst sonny's I've been to.

Late lunch service was excellent and the ribs(baby back) were also excellent.

It's a barbecue chain, what else is there to say. Nice staff at this location.

New manager and New employee's so a whole new Sonny's so if you had a bad experience in the past them time to try it again I promise u will not be disappointed. Give the drive thru a chance make sure to ask for Wendy

Food was good. Server had no personality, never said Hello or introduced himself, didn't even have name badge. Only said, "what would you like to drink and order" Brought an appetizer to table to share, never offered small plates. Gave us our lunches, picked up plates and brought us the bill and said "thank you". Zero personality!! Went to womens restroom and trash overflowing, trash on floor, feminine trash can in stall also overflowing. My husband and I live in Spring Hill and always have wonderful service and restroom always spotless at the Sonny's in Spring Hill. This location on Adamo leaves alot to be desired.

About a year ago I started eating at Sonny's. So it is great, especially the baby back ribs.

Terrible, don't go! Trash on the floors, even at the entrance. The salad bar was a mess, the restroom was so disgusting it was unusable. If I had went to the restroom before ordering I would have turned around and walked out. There are so many better options on 60...I know I'm never going back to this Sonny's!

I stopped here a couple weeks ago and ordered a rack of ribs plus the rib dinner. It was the worst food I have eaten. My dogs couldn't have chewed that meat! Won't go there again...

Sonny's BBQ is one of our favorite restaurants in Brunswick. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful and the food is always fresh and good. The Ribs for Two is one meal that may not be listed on the menu but is available if you ask. The serving portions are large so we always have something to take home. The sweet tea is one of the best drinks on the menu. Ask for a half-and-half, if it is too sweet. They also offer to-go drinks if you want a little more for the ride home.

Food was great as always. I wasn't impressed with the waiter. Servers need to understand that no matter how fantastic the food, the service can leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Had all you can eat sliced pork it was juicy and tender and the best sliced pork I've had in awhile

People here hate their jobs. The bathrooms we're super disgusting, i.e. my wife said there was a summers Eve wrapper on the floor. Floors in general are gross. Food is just okay.

Autumn was an amazing server. Friendly and cozy atmosphere. Although, they were out of babyback ribs. That threw us for a loop, but we were able to recover with the St. Louis ribs. We cane in as a group of 6 adults plus 24 children. Overall staff was amazing.

Good basic no frills BBQ. I always get the "big deal" , sandwich, fries and drink for under $10. They also keep a fresh salad bar

I have been a die hard Sunny's fan for 20+ years. Lately I feel like the decor and surroundings have improved but the food quality has declined. Just not the same.
