This is a hidden gem been in port Charlotte for a long time,kept saying we need to try this place ,finally did and we were missing out. Great food,great staff we definitely go more often.

Had an awesome time at this Thai spot! The place feels super cozy and authentic, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We tried a bunch of dishes and everything was tasty, especially the Pad Thai—it was spot on! You can really tell they use fresh ingredients. They've got a great menu too, with lots of choices for everyone. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the mood for some good Thai food!

Went to get lunch at Thai Chef, thought the food would be fresh. Guess not ! Or either the chef needs to be replaced. Got Pad Thai. Noodles were over cooked and sticking, eggs in it was burnt. Spring roll was cold under cooked( taste like microwave food). Presentation means everything. This wasn't a great presentation. Guess I have to still look elsewhere

Excellent Thai restaurant. Really unique decor, food is very tasty and staff friendly and helpful. Menu has variety of choices but not so many that you wonder how they can offer quality. I had Drunken noodle with shrimp and my wife had Volcano Chicken on fire! We will go again, I guess is the best referral one can get.

What an absolute gem. I love Thai food and this is officially my favorite between Port Charlotte and Fort Myers. The service was very fast and the staff was nice. I like that they offer lunch portions. I'm big on meat texture/flavor and the chicken was good. I'll definitely be back!

Great Thai food!! We were seating quickly and then our server came quaintly to take our drink order. It wasn’t long before they took our food order as well. It’s a clean restaurant, although in a strip mall. The food was excellent - I had their drunken noodles with chicken and my wife had their pad Thai with shrimp and both were fantastic. We also shared an order of crab Rangoon as an appetizer and really liked it. It was a very good meal and not overpriced at all. Would recommend if you like Thai food.

Went tonight with momsie. She's a tough nut when it comes to restaurants, but gave it 5 stars. I forgot to ask for my curry without sugar, but it wasn't repulsively sweet like some Thai places when I forget to order without sugar. Ingredients all tasted fresh and vegetables not over cooked. Definitely recommend.

Just an amazing authentic place, the food, the atmosphere and the service was above and beyond. Felt like being at a friend's house for dinner who happens to be an amazing chef.

I’ve been craving Thai food since moving here 3 years ago. Nothing measured up bro where we used to live. Today I decided to do a broader search since I was out running around. Several people commented on this restaurant so I gave it a try. So glad I did so!!!! The servers were very attentive & made sure I had everything I may need. The menu is authentic Thai dishes, not just Asian food, it’s true Thai! The pad c ewe tasted perfectly like what I have had at high end Thai restaurants. I also ordered a veggie Thom Ka soup. I’ve only ordered chicken Thom Ka in the past so it’s hard to do a fair evaluation on the veggie one, but the broth was wonderful! And for me, the version I got was really good! I had leftovers for lunch the next day too. And I will definitely be back again,

Perfect gem of a restaurant! Really good, definitely authentic Thai! Wife was born in Bangkok so we know the difference. Everyone was so friendly and everything we ordered was delicious 😋. Can’t wait to try their different duck recipes. On this outing we had satay, dumplings, curry puffs and a soft shell crab pad Thai to die for!! Give them a try and you won’t regret it!! 👍👍

The food is absolutely DELICIOUS! The unique decor, and the awesome service are just a bonus. The staff really makes you feel like family here, even on your first trip! Today we ordered a crab Rangoon appetizer- they were crispy, & very flavorful, served with sweet chili sauce; because it was lunch time we were also served chicken noodle soup.. - this was so inviting & the bean sprouts added to the freshness. The pad Thai here is the best I’ve ever had!! Something about the tangy tamarind sauce with the crunchy bits of peanut & scrambled egg really make you want to go in for another bite! We also tried the Shrimp Hot Pot- this was MY FAVORITE dish I’ve had from here so far… The glass noodles were coated in a oyster and soy sauce mix over a bed of fresh vegetables. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, but the sauce with the glass noodles really paired very well ! This is my FAVORITE Thai place !!

Excellent variety of Thai specialties. My favorites were the shrimp Pad Thai and their tasty spring rolls. So much more to try so we will need to return often.

Could never get Thai food anywhere that could compare with Thai Cafe. All first class food made with years of experience. Go there, you could never be disappointed. Their menu is extensive, and never had anything that wasn't superb. We had chicken satay, steamed and fried pork dumplings for appetizers, then pai tai with house fried rice. Also has an order of crispy duck. No gamey taste, just wonderful. We had Thai ice tea, made just right. I could go on and on about all the wonderful food we have had from their menu. This is family owned restaurant, don't overlook it.

Absolutely fantastic! One of our favorite places to eat. The food and service cannot be beat. We have tried most things on the menu and everything has been so good. Staff is very personable. High recommend.

We’ve been back 3 times, and loved it each time. The girls working there are so friendly and wonderful waitresses. Love the food. Favorites so fair have been duck se-we and basil fried rice. They’re very accommodating to food allergies, and the atmosphere is lovely.

I don't normally like to leave bad reviews. We're not snobs or looking for anything fancy, this was just truly bad food. We got takeout. The pad thai was dry and flavorless, didn't look anything like the photos. The fried rice was so salty none of us could eat it. Maybe we were there on a bad night? I don't know. Wouldn't go back.

After a truly horrible pick up experience that I won’t elaborate on, the food was absolutely disgusting. Nothing tasted remotely like Thai food. The Panang curry tasted like dirty dishwater and burnt plastic. The tofu 3 ways was worse, if that’s possible. Just not edible. Not to mention my husband got food poisoning from it. Not sure if the restaurant was bought out? It’s not the same anymore. Beware.

Quite good! The Red Curry is my favorite dish. Just about everything is well-prepared, though, and the duck is always great!! The new decor is really nice and inviting and warm feeling. Definitely the best Thai food in Charlotte county.

One of our favorite local restaurants, we go about once a month. Good menu. Try the crispy duck pad Thai, you won't be disappointed. Great place to bring people from out of town. The service is always excellent.

I ordered a few different things and was so shocked, everything was delicious! The pad Thai is definitely the best I've had in Port Charlotte area, perhaps the best I've ever had(coming from California). Definitely recommend :).

Edit: The owner contacted me to apologize for the accidentally charging me $73 when the meal was supposed to be $43 and has credited me the difference. If you like paying $30 for cheap Chinese vegetables thrown into a lumpy broken curry, served with disdain and two tablespoons of cold burnt rice scraped from the bottom of a pan then this is the place for you!

Arrived at 1:45pm and was told they couldn't serve us, so we order to go. We get our food and they gave us very little meat in all the food that we ordered. One piece of shrimp in there tum yum soup. Three pieces of chicken in peanut sauce. Felt like we got gipped for what we paid. When you walk in you might smell an odd odor like I did. Someone also crashed into the front door and the place looks run down now.

We were there at about 6PM on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy. The menu is large, with a lot of seafood choices and all the usual proteins. We went with the special fried rice and ginger stir fry with chicken. The stir fry did not have much flavor although the veg were cooked perfectly. The fried rice hit the spot! Service was fast and professional. We would go again to try a few more dishes, before deciding if it's our go to for Thai.

Not quite as tasty as usual. Smaller portions, same price. My companion asked if cook had been replaced as his was not as tasty either. But still used lots of salt.

Best Thai Basil Duck I ever had!!! Love this place!!!

First time visiting this restaurant as requested by a friend. We met for lunch. Store was clean, staff was friendly the food was excellent. Plan to go to continue to go back.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We stopped for lunch and found it to be the best Thai we have had in Southwest Florida. Having moved from the NY metro area a few months ago and this food easily competes with some great restaurants in NYC and New Jersey. Great service and menu. Can't wait to go back next week.

Best pad thai in Port Charlotte

I’m so happy to find this Thai restaurant for takeout dinner . The food is so good ( I’m 100 % Thai ) , fresh and big portions. I’m here for visit for a couple days but I absolutely come back when I visit here again.

portions somewhat small but real good could have had some more rice ....

excellent food i worked at a thai resteraunt and was pleased in the similarities.their fried rice is superb the garlic flavor alongside the fresh cracked pepper was satiating the palette of flavors more than satisfying and very reasonably priced.i shall be returning.

Food is OK to good, but not authentic. The Tom Yum Gai not worth ordering. The Pad SeWee was too sloppy and had way too much soy sauce in it. Get the Pad Thai instead. The panang curry was good, but much more like a red curry than an authentic Malaysian panang curry, which should have been a bit more earthy and with a fish sauce for flavour.

UPDATE (11/12/20): I've dropped my review to 3 stars because tonight my mother and I made a special trip from Arcadia to have some of our favorite food around. As we were getting out of the car I was greeted by a sign that states NO MASK NO SERVICE. This is a problem because my mother and I are both unable to wear masks. Sad to say that I may not go back to a place I have loved for so many years. Always excellent food and service. The staff knows us even if we haven't been in ages and always treat us like family.

Pretty good. Tasty. Closed for sitting. Definitely 4 of 5.

My husband and I are huge fans of Thai Cafe. Not only do we love their food, but they are very friendly and welcoming. And I love the vibe of their restaurant as well. You instantly feel like you stepped into Thailand with their decor giving the essence of their culture! Definitely recommend trying this place out if you're a fan of Thai food!

Best Pad Thai in town! "Cookie" takes great care of us, always attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Great spot for lunch, especially on a chilly day. They serve a cup of soup complimentary with each entree and provide a tray of relishes you can add to your soup to spice it up to your liking. Crispy duck and fired rice are also excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Truly well done Thai. Go for the flaming Volcano duck, stay for the rest of the great menu. Fresher organic vegetables would make knock it out of the park. A gen hidden in an aging strip center.

Delicious coconut milk chicken soup; might be the most flavorful broth I have ever had. Pad thai noodles were a little gummy, but had a good taste; Definitely not hot enough at 3 out of 5 heat request. Crab rangoon a bit overcooked but good sweet filling.

The food is PHENOMENAL! Was a little busy but the owners made sure to do their best to keep everyone happy. I am looking forward to many more visits and trying several more dishes from the menu. Flavors are authentic to the culture.

Stopped for dinner on our way to Busch gardens. The reviews were great. The restaurant is small but cozy.the decor has elephant everywhere. The service was outstanding. The menu is confusing if you never been.we tried the red curry #2.it goes by rating how spicy you wanted it.we tried calamari, shrimp,beef.they were great but too many vegetables less protein. The fried rice was good.it was alot .skip the veggie fried rice more vegetables than rice.the dumplings were different. I wouldn't order them next time.the spring rolls were great.the tea was warm and soothing. The jasmine rice comes with the entrees. The thai donuts were a hit with the kids.a bit pricey for dinner 100.00 for 4 people.
