I've been a regular customer here for about 2 months. Today at 1:00 I called to place a takeout order. The lady on the other end of the phone told me to "never call here again" and hung up the phone on me in 10 seconds. Obviously she misheard what I said, or thought I was somebody else, but that doesn't mean it's not the most ridiculous and unprofessional way of handling a food order I've ever had, especially in 10 seconds .

It's about as good as it gets for a local diner. It's clean, has no pretensions, and serves good food. Try the crabcakes once—they are the best I've had at any price.

We will definitely be going back to this restaurant the people were so nice and very very pleasant and the food was amazing it was all homemade could not even finish it all definitely going back

Initially 2/2024: Coffee brewed weak so we added a tsp of instant espresso to perk it up. I had the benedict with bacon, tomato, and broccoli which was one of today's specials. I liked my Benedict except for the barely pink tasteless winter tomato. Oh well, anything other than a campari tomato will be sad. Spouse had the chili omelette which had mild chili both inside the omelet and on top. We also shared one walnut pancake which was good, and huge. A restaurant must have good coffee to rate 5 stars with me, but otherwise this place was great. Attentive coffee gal and wait staff. Update 8/2024: Chesesteak omelet is good, Italian omelet is good, special menu short rib Benedict is good and comes with asparagus. Coffee was .....Homestead Roasters brewed to be a dark color but is still tasteless so it is probably a blond roast.

First time here and it will not be the last! It was nice to see a restaurant not afraid to season their food. The chicken croquettes were amazing the cream of mushroom soup had a perfect consistency and great flavor. The servers were working well together and helping one another. Chef McCombe and his team have built a great local restaurant.

Small town restaurant with excellent food and menu options

We were in the area this past weekend attending an arts festival and were at a loss for where to go for dinner. Based on a random google search we decided to give this place a shot. That decision paid off as our meals were absolutely delicious. We were served heaping portions of meatloaf, turkey and sides. The waitress was really friendly as well. I was in the area for several days and this was by far the best meal of the trip. A great old school restaurant is hard to come by these days. Would absolutely recommend.

Love the Oaks, never disappoints. Great place to meet up with friends, coffee & breakfast.

Found this place while having to take a long trip away from home. We were greeted immediately and welcomed in. The staff were friendly and the service was decently fast. The food was delicious. If I'm in their area again, I will go back!

The food was extremely good, but I had the hot chocolate with whipped cream, the whipped cream tasted super expired!!!! We got 3 appetizers with were extremely good but the whole total was 96.25 dollars!!!!

The restaurant was remodeled during Covid. Everything is extremely clean and new looking. The employees are very capable and friendly. The breakfast is as good as ever. It gets busy during breakfast hours but we had no problem getting a table and there were seats available at the counter

My husband and my first time here and we loved it. Food was amazing. The atmosphere was so old school and open. We sat at the bar and were served some of the best coffee I have ever had right away. This place is everything you could want.

Just a great local place for good food and family times

We visited family last week and this is their go to Breakfast spot....and I can see why! I have been brought here three different times by my Brother....amazing service and food. The sausage biscuits and gravy are to die for... Eggs Benedict with pork roll for the win... The slammer is definitely a good bang for your buck. They normally have some type of mouthwatering special going on. The pancakes and French toast are all on point. The grilled muffins are also quite yummy. Atmosphere is giving cozy family kitchen. All food including eggs came out exactly as ordered.... Great place...we always seem to hit right before the wait line starts.... Hidden Gem!!! We will be back...it's just a 6 hour drive.

if they answer the phone they’ll put on you on hold for ten minutes then lie to you about how long it’ll take them the potatoes and broccoli were ice cold,didn’t offer anything off,terrible would not recommend

Dinner was amazing. So much food needed to take over half home for later. Crab cakes were delicious and asparagus was tender and delicious.

What a great find! Breakfast and lunch place that has a great atmosphere. All of the front of the house staff are involved in your experience, reasonable price and nice portions. Next time we are out that way we will definitely stop back.

This is a cute little neighborhood gem. Staff friendly and food yummy.

Fantastic, comfy, home style food. Great, attentive service. The strangest hours though. The place has a bit of an identity crisis where they refuse to believe they're basically a diner or family eatery and not a Michelin starred restaurant.

I came from Florida to visit my son, daughter-in-law and grandson. I asked them for a nice, clean place to eat. Perfect place for breakfast or brunch. Quick, friendly and great food. What more could you ask for?

Everything was delicious. I felt bad they were understaffed and overwhelmed. The food came fast and was super hot. The coffee never stopped. I was super amazed at the waitresses working together and taking care of business! Kitchen crew was slayin dishes. I am very well pleased and definitely will return.

This is one of the best places to get breakfast in the morning. I grew up right around the area and always used to go. Great prices, great staff, great food. What more could you ask for from a restaurant? I’m so happy this place is still open.

This is a great place for Breakfast and Lunch. I have not been there for dinner. Everything comes out fresh and hot. Excellent selection of choices. I recommend the Belgian Waffles and Turkey Club sandwiches.

Always a good meal at a fair price. All the staff are friendly and service is on point. Place is clean, bright, pleasant & relaxing.

I really enjoy the new cook that's in the kitchen. He came out to introduce himself when I told my server I loved his food. His cooking is definitely an improvement over the other cook's food.

What a great stop for a family breakfast or to catch up with a friend. The food is always good, and they know how to cook that perfect piece of scrapple. The creamed chipped beef and sausage and gravy are always a great choice.

We decided to go this place, it pooked really nice. We are out of towners. BWhen we got inside, we liked what we saw on the menu. We were about to be seated, when i saw the sign that gratuities could not be added to a credit/debit card. We rarely have cash on us these days, and we always tip. We had no cash on us, and were pretty upset. We turned around and walked right out. We would never go to a restaurant and not tip. It makes no sense to lose business because of a slightly higher interchange fee. This model can really hurt the servers. It's just not the way the business is done in 2022.

Good food, good prices, friendly service. Expect to sit a while and enjoy the company while waiting for your food. We went for breakfast at 10am on a Saturday. We were seated quickly, our order was taken in a timely manner, and our beverages came out quickly. It took a while for the food to come out but we did arrive after a large group. The coffee was better than a lot of other diner coffee that I've had. The food was on the better end of the spectrum as far as diners go. Especially for the price.

Fish was good but veggies and sides seemed canned and diner like quality. Felt rushed by the manager who seemed to only have time of day for the regulars.

I called the restaurant to reserve a table for their “Thurs Lobster Night” two weeks in advance initially for 4 people, then I called back to increase it to 6 people, The person taking the call found the original reservation and indicated she would increase the amount of people. She asked if all were having lobster and I replied yes, we were all having lobster. On the appointed day we arrived to find they didn’t have a record of the reservation and they didn’t have any lobsters. The lady behind the desk did not apologize nor offer to have us seated despite an almost empty dining room. We were left scrambling to find another restaurant last minute. This place is very badly miss managed and I would not recommend it!

Friendly service and the waitress anticipated my order and needs. Great breakfast. I had the sausage gravy on the side with some eggs and home fries and a crunchy English muffin.

Great little find. Was cruising around, and noticed that the parking lot was still jammed at 2 pm on a weekday. That tells me something. So, I said to myself, "Hot Ajax, you need to go in there and stuff your face". So I did. Great home style food. Generous portions. Very casual and relaxed cafe atmosphere. Clean and bright, service was fast. I'm going back, bet on it. And if your synapses are firing correctly, you should too.

We have been going to Oaks this year for dinner on Thursday, Fri or Sat, and found it to be fantastic! Their food is always fresh, healthy, and creative in recipe and presentation. Went for a long time for breakfast and lunch and always enjoyed them but this year their dinner specials are outstanding. Staff is friendly and always helpful. What a great place!!

Awesome restaurant, fabulous staff and food. Very accommodating to your needs when they can be. Summertime they have lobster night on Thursdays. And a limited menu. But very worth it. Call for reservations recommended.

We had egg white omlets. Took a half hour to get them, they were not cooked properly, eggs were runny. Pricing was as high as Perkins and nowhere near as good. Won't be going back.

Awesome restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the short rib special that melted in mouth and for dessert I had the best carrot cake I've ever had (made in-house too). I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area.
