THE spot for brunch in Bridgeport. Great food, great service and the owner will even drop a few bars from some of your favorite hymns. 10/10

This is a neighborhood gem. Always evolving with the times and has been a cornerstone of South Morgan Street for decades. I used to work here as a teenager and the consistency in the food preparation is just as strong as it ever was. (Rent Hoodlum when you have a chance and look for the scene where the restaurant was reimagined for the film.) Everything was flavorful and well-portioned. The walls are adorned with photos that brought back so many memories of good times and friends. This will always be a great place to go for any meal. It is bolstered by the adjoining banquet hall and has wonderful rooms for a bed and breakfast style getaway within the city limits. Be sure to check out the amazing place that Chef/Owner Dave Samber has maintained since 1985. It is and always will be "Something different. Something wonderful."

Visited for dinner last Friday with a large group. First time. The restaurant space has a warm feel with lots of Chicago ambiance (photos, vintage pieces). The menu is varied and the meals provide good portions and great taste. I had the sea bass special with grilled vegetables and rice with beans, my husband had the fish and chips. Both were tasty and well presented. Service was excellent (friendly and attentive), especially given the size of our group. Parking lot is adjacent. Owner/chef is delightful! Highly recommend.

Dave has been making the best food in the area for decades. The pastas and salads are my go2. The soups are worth a trip all by themselves.

I stayed here for a couple days with a group of peers for a violin performance, and the food was really amazing! I thought the food could generally use some more spices, but I can't really complain. The pizzas (made in house) were delicious, and I thought the artichoke and broccoli pizzas were really interesting and good, and the mushroom pizza was just heavenly. The creme brulee french toast I had the next morning was the best french toast I'd ever had. Highly recommend.

I’m really glad we had the chance to visit the Polo Inn. It is a really nice classic place for great American food and even has nice bed and breakfast accommodations that we stayed at for the weekend during a music choreography retreat. They have a really cool banquet room with a stage and a loft. Really cool place for a private party or event. It’s definitely worth checking it out.

This is my favorite breakfast spot in the city! Their Crème Brûlée French Toast is the best in the world. I’ve also tried their Eggs Benedict XVI and that’s brilliant too. The owner, Dave Samber, is down-to-earth, super friendly and great to talk to. I have to also mention Martin who is very welcoming and very attentive and offers great recommendations, I always feel welcome every time I show up. All in all, this is a fantastic place and a must visit!

We are forty-year patrons. Everything from lunch, brunch, catered events, and banquets. We’ve done it all. You’ll never be disappointed. Dave catered a wedding during the pandemic at our home…remarkable! Prepared our Christmas Eve prime rib dinner…perfect! Don’t hesitate, Dave will deliver!

I was there for their annual Christmas brunch. The food was great. They have enough variety for anyone's taste. Plus they had live music.

Attended the gospel brunch and enjoyed wonderful food while being entertained with gorgeous organ music often accompanied by the talented owner Dave Samber. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. This was a delightful and unique culinary experience in a cozy restaurant housed in a building rich with history. Enjoyed every minute!

The Polo Inn is a great local place to relax and have a delicious meal. We always get the salmon dinner because it is so excellent. It is always very moist and delicious! The soups are outstanding, too. And service is always top notch here. Definitely recommend it! The decor and architectural details of this restaurant makes you feel like you have taken a step back in time to old Chicago with the charm of days gone by. Last time we were here on a Friday night we were treated to a violin concert by a fellow diner, and even the owner started singing Christmas carols!

Planning a 50th anniversary party in Chicago, for a couple that lives in Arizona, could be a stressful endeavor. However, Dave Samber and his team made each step of the process simple and easy. We knew we were in good hands from the delicious food to the beautiful decor. The Polo team goes the distance to ensure your event goes flawlessly and exceeds every expectation!

My sister held her bridal shower at The Polo Inn and it was FABULOUS! The owner and helpers did an amazing job setting up the venue to make it look beautiful. There were about 45 people in attendance and we all enjoyed it. The food was spectacular and I liked everything Dave made. The butternut squash ravioli and the braciole were specialty items Dave put together for us and they were a hit with the entire group. I can’t say enough good things about my experience at The Polo Inn thanks to the wonderful employees and delicious food.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights after we got married. We took advantage of the bed and breakfast and both were wonderful. The rooms are historic and charming. Dave and his staff go above and beyond. The food is amazing. Me and my girlfriend stayed in the 2 br suite. And let me tell you the pictures do not do these rooms justice. I usually only stay in 4-5 star hotels. This experience was just wonderful all the way around. They treat you like valued guest and go above and beyond for their customers. Best breakfast I've ever had, very comfortable and very private and quiet rooms. TV was listed as a 32" on my ap, I was happy to see a 50" TV in the room with all the streaming services to watch whatever you want. Bed was very comfortable and the room was just so clean. Very old building but it has been updated and they added a claw tub...phenomenal place. Anytime I go back to Chicago, this is where I will stay!

Our favorite brunch spot and greatest neighborhood gem. Everything on the menu is perfectly curated and soo delicious. Portions are generous- we never leave without leftovers. Some of my favorites are the bacon bun, the crème brûlée French toast (a must-have), the pretzel bun, and chilaquiles. Gospel brunch is my favorite- the owner/chef/lead gospel singer is always in-house and always walks around saying hellos and making sure everyone has a good meal. whether for weeknight date night or weekend brunch, I don’t know what we’d do without this neighborhood staple ❤️

Came here for Sunday Gospel Brunch with a friend. What a special treat! Food and service were excellent (I got today's special and my friend got the combo prix fixe) but the cherry was definitely the gospel music. Chef has a wonderful voice and it was so heart-warming hearing him sing blessings over the diners and the community. His sincerity and peace definitely shined through. Definitely coming back!

Friendly B&B with great breakfast and convenient location to visit the Windy City

Have been hear several times as my son resides in Bridgeport. The food is made from scratch and always delicious. Have done lunch and breakfast with varied choices and it's always been tasty. The service is good too.

Great food Sunday Gospel Brunch with my church family

Chef owner Dave and his employee Kevin are truly the bests! We booked at the Polo Inn B&B for two nights, because we had some works done on our boat nearby. We cannot say how much we loved this place! As boaters who have been away from home for 3 months now, the Polo Inn was like homecoming. Room was clean and perfect for our needs. Breakfast were delicious : you have to try their crème brûlée french toasts! Dave was really helpful and generous. We cannot thank him enough for everything he did for us while we were here. Repairs on the boat got delayed, so we even had the chance to enjoy a third night. :)

I've been going to Polo for ten years and it has been consistently delicious the entire time. I've had several birthday parties here and other events. The owner Dave and his staff are accommodating and courteous. Here's what you do. Go on Sunday for brunch. Have a mimosa and enjoy the show. Get the Creme Brulee French Toast and the Eggs Benedict - they'll change your life. Then, you'll know what I'm talking about. Polo 4 Lyfe.

By far the best stay my family and I have had in Chicago. We stayed in the White Sox suite for one night and the room was beautiful, tons of memorabilia to look at, field of dreams inspired room, truly one of the coolest rooms we’ve stayed in. The owners are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met, and even drove us to the ball park before the game. Only one mile away from the ball park so it’s in a very convenient spot, and to finish our stay we were served breakfast, and it was by far the best breakfast I’ve had from ANY restaurant in my life. A+ stay, and we will be back for the food, the lovely hosts, and their beautiful dog Roman. A+ stay.

I found this place trying to get back to the Southside during the Chicago marathon. The detour sent me right pass this delightful little spot so I stopped to try it and I'm glad I did. I don't even like French toast traditionally, but that creme brulee french toast is incredible and the bacon are legit adult slices. The services is also topnotch, attentive but not hovering and the owner (who 3leveb sang a couple of tunes at gospel brunch) greeted each table. Would definitely go back to see what dinner is like.

Darling little jewel nestled in the Bridgeport neighborhood of chicago. Also, the Polo Inn has availability for banquets and bed and breakfast suites. How great is that. Minutes from downtown, Sox park and the lake front.

Very nice place on the south side of Chicago

Was there for Mother's Day brunch. There were 6 of us In half thought the food was just OK. The disappointing part was that there was no really breakfast. No eggs bacon sausage etc.It's supposed to be a brunch not just lunch. Not worth the money was the majority of our opinion.

As usual brunch was great! This us one of my FAVORITE places to go, and I do every chance I get! Staff is great, and David treats everyone like family. Keep up the good work.

We ordered the Easter Feast for Easter Dinner and everyone loved it. Of course, I had to add some Polish Sausage and Pierogies to authenticate it as a Polish Easter, your ham and sides were delicious! Two of our Granddaughters were playing in a volleyball tournament at McCormick place, so we couldn't plan a time until we knew they were done. Was lucky enough to find this place and dine in awhile ago and I still daydream about how great my meal was. If I should ever find myself on death row and they ask what I want for my final meal I'll request the meat loaf from the Polo Inn.
