Delicious every time! I eat here often. I’ve tried several different meals and they’ve all been great. The food is always consistent.

People are exceptional especially Crystal! Food is outstanding!

The staff here is not very friendly unless you are one of the regulars. Regulars get told hi and welcome with brief conversation where new customers are ignored and left standing there for long periods of a time without being acknowledged. The layout of the restraunt also makes it difficult to move around to enter or leave. The service is also rather slow. The food was just okay

It's a small place but warm and welcoming. The food is great had the blackened reddish. Moist and enough spice for flavor.

The staff is super nice. The food is priced well, and it was super good. I had the lasagna, which normally I'm worried about, but they had the perfect mixture of everything. A friend of mine with me had the shrimp and grits, and she said it's one of the best she ever had.

Italian Twist for Brunch 🇮🇹 • We have been wanting to try this spot but have not been in town to go. Well, we did Saturday Brunch and would absolutely come back. Small house looking space, greeted with the bar at the door and seating to the right. I asked how long it’s been open and 26 years! I see why too 😋 • We got the Benedict, Deluxe Grit Bowl and The Godfather Omelette. These each came with a side of either potatoes or grits. I cannot speak for the potatoes because we all three got grits and they were the best I’ve had. Very creamy, smooth and not dry at all. Each of the dishes were good, but I will say the Godfather was spectacular. It had so many meatballs on the inside, mixed with the cream cheese that I still am not sure what kind is used. The marinara/pasta sauce over the top was very delicious and you can tell homemade 👏🏻 • Overall very pleasant experience, and we will be back to try their lunch sometime soon. That is something to note as they are not open past 2 o’clock any day from what I could tell.

I stopped by here yesterday and the nice man working the front looked genuinely disappointed to tell us there'd be a wait. The food smelled so good and everyone looked so happy that we stopped back by today instead. Our waiter was the epitome of good customer service and (dont tell my mom) the meatballs were the best I've ever had. Mom had nothing but compliments for her omlette, and we both had to ask about their wine so we could get some for home. I've eaten at a lot of fantastic restaurants in Slidell, but this has got to have been the best experience yet, and that's saying something!

I got up Sunday morning and told my wife we ​​were going to eat somewhere and searching on Google Map I saw this restaurant and decided to go. It's our first visit here, it's a little small place, we waited a little but it was worth the wait. Very good service. Our waiter was Helmer, very attentive to everything. The exquisite food 👌🏼. We ordered black coffee, which honestly wasn't coffee, it was more like coffee-flavored water, but we still asked the waiter if he could change the stronger coffee for us, but the kind and sincere person told us that was what the coffee was like and he apologized for that. Then we ordered pecan pancakes, which were delicious. Then they brought us food, which we had to leave aside the pancakes because of the good portion of food. My wife ordered the Godfather Omelette and I ordered the eye opener, both super delicious. Delicious china juice. Truly a hidden gem this place. My husband and I have made this one of our favorite spots in Slidell. The first time, we had the following: Pecan pancakes( love these), breakfast potatoes, grits, Gulf Coast omelet, and the Godfather omelet. Superb!! Then we came back another day for lunch. We had the following: Crab cakes ( full of crab), crawfish cornbread ( this was the special of the day...OMG, delicious comfort food), blackened red fish, and green beans. We will be back for King Cake. The waiter ( female, not sure of name) is always welcoming and helpful. Thank you ma'am for your service ❤️.

Slidell hidden gem. Breakfast is great. Can't wait to try more!

My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for breakfast, so I did a Google search, and found this little gem. Was a little thrown off by the name, Taste of Italy, assuming it to be a lunch and dinner establishment. Boy was I incorrect. Herman took care of us with a smile, and he gave spectacular service. The restaurant is small and quaint. You feel a good vibe when you walk in the door. The food was out of this world. I had the "diet plate" and my husband had the Godfather. The dishes were truly some of the best food we've ever eaten in Slidell. Large portions, a medley of flavors, and half of each of our plates we're taking home. Want something different that will blow up your taste buds? Give yourself the pleasure of dining here. Can't wait to come back and enjoy some other eye catching entrees. Would give them 10 stars. When I got home from work, Mein Papa was ready to go out and eat. He took me to 'A Touch of Italy Cafe,' and it was my first time dining there. I decided to try the special of the day, the Rib Eye with Coleslaw and green beans. It turned out to be an absolutely amazing meal, cooked to perfection. The combination of a surprise outing with Mein Papa and the delightful food made it a memorable experience.

It’s a hole in the wall hotspot! Had brunch with my bestie and I got the egg platter breakfast. Eggs over medium subbed potatoes for grits, bacon well done served with biscuit and gravy, added pecan pancake. The grits are the best I’ve ever had, sorry granny! Bacon was nice and crispy, how I like it. Biscuit and gravy was good with the sausage in it. And pancake was huge and fluffy. My wife got the eggs Benedict, the ham was a lil thick for her liking said she would sub for bacon next time and said the hollandaise sauce was phenomenal! Overall good experience and good food. We would go back!

I think this is the most cost-effective Italian brunch restaurant in town. If you come on holiday, you may have to wait a long time because their place is small, but I think it is worth it!

This place is a small local restaurant and you had best come here because it is simply some of the best food you will ever eat. Also, the waiter that we had was so awesome, friendly and he and the rest go above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. I will be back very soon!! Got yelled at for picking up a menu on display during brunch. Never been here before, won’t be back.

From our first meal here, my wife and I have sincerely enjoyed dining at Touch of Italy. Their breakfast and lunch/dinner options are both varied and delicious. The portions you get are nothing to scoff at. The last visit had us enjoying Eggs Sardou and the Shrimp & Grits. The grits are flavorful and velvety accompanied by plump fresh shrimp in a hearty gravy/sauce. The Eggs Sardou has a perfectly poached egg with spinach sauce nested on a delicious English muffin and slice of ham accompanied by their grits. Definitely a place to experience regularly!

The place is a small little restaurant with good food and great service. Highly recommend

This is a quaint little place in Slidell that we went to for breakfast on our visit to New Orleans. The food was absolutely great and the prices were fantastic. We liked it so much that we stopped a second time on the way out of town. I highly recommend the "Diet Plate" which has absolutely nothing to do with dieting btw, the eggs Benedict and the grits were some of the best I've had!!!

First time going to touch of italy was on Saturday the 15th. The staff was so knowledgeable and patient while we looked over the menu. He provided excellent customer service and also the food was outstanding. Highly recommended and definitely will be going back.

Hands down best chicken parm in Slidell. Perfectly crispy chicken while still juicy and tender with the perfect amount of fresh mozzarella on top. The sauce was obviously fresh and well seasoned. Absolutely delicious. I'll definitely come back again.

This spot was recommended by our neighbors for a great breakfast, so we decided to try it. They bragged on the grits, so we definitely had to try them. Food - It came out quick. It came out hot, and it tasted delicious. I'm not sure what kinda grits it is or what they put in them, but they were very flavorsome. I had the grits bowl, and my husband had the shrimp omelet with a side of grits. I got the bowl minus the country gravy because I just wasn't sure about that. There was salsa on the omelet, which was definitely handmand, no jar here. The biscuits are definitely homemade, and the butter is that soft, smooth butter just like I like.😉 The prices are fair also. The Restaurant- Its a little house type spot, not big at all, and they have a couple of tables outside also. Nothing impressive, just a little joint that has good food. Seating is a little tight, but the restaurant was clean. Restroom-Now the restroom is small. It was definitely clean though. The sink could have been a little more to the right because it is directly in front of the toilet. Awkward for sure. Service- The service was great. We were seated quickly and the server greeted us timely and took our order. He was busy, but took care of what we needed quickly. They have other foods on the menu besides breakfast, but we ordered the breakfast. Maybe we'll go back another day and try the dinner.

1st time dining here and we were all pleased. The food was very good, with large portion sizes and very reasonable prices. Staff was friendly, but also incredibly busy (note, it was Sunday morning right before the start of a MG parade). Be aware that the restaurant and parking lot are very small.

Our service was fast and friendly. Our food was hot and delicious. I had the Italian Fried Chicken in a garlic butter sauce with angel hair pasta. Sooo good! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you want scrumptious food!

Always a delicious experience. This small, warm & inviting locally owned restaurant is an Olde Town Slidell favorite. Get "The Diet" if you're hungry or a breakfast sandwich on croissant with a side of "bobo" potatoes. You won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed our meal, but staff is unfriendly. We weren’t greeted upon entering or thanked when leaving. We had to ask the waitress for drink refills, and then she only refilled 1 of 3. One plate did not have enough sauce, so we asked for a little marinara and got charged extra for it.

Y’all… I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t expecting jack from an Italian restaurant in Slidell, Louisiana but damn was I blown away. I got the chicken parmigiana- like $12. Like I said, wasn’t expecting much. Try absolutely amazing. The chicken was perfectly fried, no joke, juicy inside, and stayed crispy. Never got even slightly soggy. The marinara sauce was obviously homemade and fresh. The pasta was cooked perfectly and sopped everything up. The dish was finished with sizzling fresh mozzarella and fresh herbs. Not even to mention the service couldn’t have been better. What a gem of a place this is. Worth the trip from NOLA and worth a stop if you’re passing through on the way

Love this place for breakfast and just discovered they do dinner Thursday thru Saturday even though website says differently. Small and quaint. Spinach artichoke app was very good. Chips have to be made in house as they were excellent for the app. The salads that came with the meal were simple and good, but the fresh croutons made the salad. My veal marsala was very good with fork tender veal. My guest requested a sauce for her dish she had years ago and the chef said he could do that even though it wasn't on the current menu. My guest raved about her sauce Alyssa. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 of lack of a wine list to go with the quality food. They have wine, just not a list and selections. We will return for dinner.

We found this little hole in the wall and are so glad we did. I’m from New Orleans and pretty picky about food, and everyone’s dish was delicious!! The service was excellent, and they didn’t make us feel bad for staying a few minutes after closing time at lunch. The redfish, lasagna, and Alfredo were all delicious. I got a tiramisu to go and it was also yummmmmm! We may even go again even though we are only staying in town two nights. :)

Eggplant rose penne pasta delicious. Eggplant fried perfect. Enjoyed the atmosphere. I can’t wait to return to try more dishes.

I had the Eggs Benedict, and my husband got the Paneed Veal Benedict. We also got the Blueberry Pancakes. Everything was delicious. This beautiful Cafe is a gem and we will be back!

We decided to drop by Touch of Italy Cafe for lunch in Slidell and did not regret our decision. The service was quick and there was no wait to sit. The food came out pretty quick and was very tasty. I’ll definitely be back!!

The food was excellent. Ordered lasagna, chicken Parmesan (grilled by special request), Caesar salad with eggplant. The eggplant was very fresh and delicious. It was served with fresh baked bread.

This is a good little breakfast place. A friend eats here for dinner regularly and speaks very highly. And his pictures of the food always look delicious. It’s weird, the google listing says they open at 10am on Saturday but it is actually 8am

Got the eggs Pontchartrain with fried eggs instead of poached. Added an extra order of grits also. I do like grits. I had to wait there were busy I hate to wait. I'm glad I did. I'll definitely be back for dinner and breakfast again I don't think I'll be satisfied until I've tried everything on the menu. The waitress was nice. The prices were great. And it's right down the street from my house.

Delicious breakfast and kind staff in an beautiful, quaint old building! My only complaint is that every plate and glass we had was chipped all over and sharp. May be time for new dishes. Aside from that this place is amazing. We will definitely be back!

1st time at this establishment and was very pleased with the menu (choices) & with my entree as well. My son ordered the pancakes & they were Huge but just ok, taste wise. We will be back as soon as this pandemic blows over.

Chicken ceaser wrap is awesome. So is the brunch and spaghetti. You cant go wrong, all the food is really good.

A fave breakfast spot in Olde Town Slidell. Omlets are incredible. Bo bo potaoes are a fave! Staff is very attentive. Arrive early to snag a table in the small establishment. Very clean bathroom.
