Food was mediocre. Service was impersonal. Over-priced for what you get and they charge extra for using a credit card. Not going back. Even iHOP is a better bet.

Best breakfast in town 22 years in a row. Update: still a great place to eat. Update in August 24. Great food and service, but hasn't been a 24 hour restaurant since COVID. Not really a dinnertime place either - breakfast and lunch hours only.

Very good. We'll be back Wish I'd ventured into the chicken and waffle special. Next time.

The pancakes are perfect. The building needs a bit of a revamp, but everything seems clean at least. They had to many workers while we were there, but that means the service was great. Definitely get pancakes!

Was seated immediately, waitress did not come to table for over 10 minutes and it was not crowded in there.

We stopped after driving 5 hours for some breakfast. We like to eat at places we don't have where we live. The waitress was very rude and told my son what he was "going to eat". The floors were dirty. The bathroom was terrible. The food was bland. No flavor. The pancakes weren't fully cooked. You're better off staying home and making your own canned hash because baby, when I tell you, it was basically kitten food with potato lumps, I felt like an alley cat tryna make it's way back home only to find what I thought was food turn out to be old tube meat with lumps of potatoes. I needed to get new utensils 2 times because I kept getting dirty ones. The waiter seemed to hate her job as much as the carpet hated being clean. I mean, every step we took, it sounded like we were lifting off wet paint or paste. Maybe we went on a bad day? Regardless, never again.

Food was pretty good but the potatoes were bland and the pancakes were not hot. Service was so so...the busses did more than our server. Overall it was good but not excellent

Was excited to try the first pancake house in St. Louis. Food was decent, service was slow, found an egg shell in my hash browns, which is cross contamination. Disappointed

The only real complaint was that I couldn't sub hashbrowns for pancakes, so we had to spend more just to get the hashbrowns (had to upgrade the meal). Plenty of us can't eat pancakes (or don't like them): You should be able to sub for something else. It's ridiculous that you can't, especially since there are not many plates that don't come with pancakes. Props to our waitress who was running her tail off taking care of patrons!

My BLT was good the only thing was my toast was hard but I could eat it. But the service was terrible the waitress was too busy with talking to someone in the back, yelling at them about gravy

Been eating at Uncle Bill's for over 60 years. Great service and food quality has been consistent.

I am honestly disappointed in the service received. We were seated and got our drinks, while in the process 5 tables were seated after us, the waitress said would be back, avoided us and helped the tables AFTER we were seated waiting to take our order. Waited 15 minutes with no food order taken. This seems to happen in the afternoon/evening and there seems to no help to get the orders in and taking care of your customer. This wasn’t the first time this has happened here and this will be the last time going to them. Also upon further review, reading some recent posts. This IS an on going issue regarding service, management, and ownership of this establishment. This honestly disappoints me more, and I will NOT be back. To anyone who reads these reviews, heed caution on how you are waited on when seated, how long it takes, and how your food comes out.

My husband and I love coming here! The food and service are good, and we love the atmosphere! We've been able to bring one of our three kids, and Uncle Bill's is very child friendly!

The $8 I left on the table were for the two drinks that we drank since you guys decided to ignore taking our food order but rather chose to take food orders of six more tables that came in after us. By the way you are welcome for putting out the fire that was starting in the smokers post out front. You can keep the change for the tip. You guys sure aren’t what you used to be. We won’t be back.

I take my parents here as they like the menu and several of the wait staff know them. The food choices are perfect for them and it all tastes good. The inside is a little tired, but it's still a favorite place to eat.

Always iconic! My go to is the corned beef hash and they know how to do a great soft poached egg! Yummy deserts, too.

I've always known about this place, but never been so I finally ate here. Only greeted by a server yelling (How Many...Take a Seat). Not very welcoming, plus the dark decor inside is very dated which makes it feel dirty. I ordered the combo supreme. Nearly empty restaurant and it took about 40 minutes to get my order. Server seemed to have no life in her, no joy in her job. Anyway, over easy eggs were greasy and tasteless, meats were just blah, hash browns still wet. The pancakes were very good though! Server never checked on me once my food came. Nothing entices me to eat here again.

Love this place! A new favorite to go for food, it's fresh, it's quick and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, for 3 people with tip it was under $50! Amazing!

Uncle Bill's still has great food and service. The decor and furnishings could use some TLC,, but overall it's still one of my go to places for family dining.

Went here with my mom and we shared a breakfast meal. She got a coffee and a bowl of grits and I got a water. It was almost $30 after tip and the hashbrowns were soggy, the eggs were bland, and the pancakes looked good from the outside, but tasted like raw cornbread mix inside. I would not eat here again.

Good American . I had the Supreme 2x2x2x2 / Bacon was very good and my youngest said it was better than any other places, although the hot chocolate was a bit too sweet. Good service. The price is still competitive even after inflation. Has always been affordable.

We had a group of 14 that came in. There was a bit of a long line, which moved very fast. They got us seated way faster than we expected, and the service was great, and the food was delicious!

A few decades ago I would go down the street to have pancakes at Uncle Bill's in the city, it was always pretty good. This location feels / smells / looks like the original, moved lock, stock and barrel to Manchester road. The decor is sooooo dated, and it screams "old and not too clean". Service was abysmally slow, my order was wrong (I informed waitress and she corrected it). The food was good, very tasty pancakes. Waitress never checked on me and finally offered fresh coffee when I was collecting my stuff to leave. So, food was good, Service was terrible and ambiance was kinda nasty. Stick a fork in me, I'm done with that place!!

Staff runs like a well oiled machine. Courteous and fast. Food was great, better than greasy spoon fare I was expecting. Def my go to spot next time I'm in town.

Our family has loved this restaurant but this trip was not good. Food was not as ordered but they were visibly under staffed to be fair. If you under tip, beware. I don't typically but I was hassled by the person checking us out. They also asked you to give them the tip amount so they can add it and then if not up to standards, make you feel guilty. Also, $45 for two people for breakfast food with a drink. Did you go up in price? Caused me think about not going back.

I've been going to the Manchester, Missouri Uncle Bills restaurant for a few weekends for breakfast, but no more after this weekend. My food, however, was just barely warm. Wet scrambled eggs that had cooled off, and weren't fully cooked. Cold bacon. Biscuits that were cool-to-warm and became hard because they were undoubtedly prepared in a microwave. In the past I've received luke-warm bacon and pancakes that weren't cooked through (runny in the middle). This appears to be the way the restaurant enjoys serving food... cooked and cold, or warm but not quite cooked. I'm sure they'll blame their issues on staffing problems, but I don't care about that. I prepare meals for myself every day of the week. What I don't prepare has to be microwaved because of my work schedule. So, one day a week I look forward to going out and treating myself for breakfast. I tried giving this place more than one chance, but I won't go back now. The server was nice enough. However, management apparently does not care about customer satisfaction. I told someone about the condition of my meal. Her response was, "Oh, that's too bad... $20.00 please." Never asked what was wrong with my meal or offered to discount the bill. I guess they believe one customer makes no difference and their doors will stay open regardless. It could be a good place if ran differently.

Great breakfast options at reasonable prices. My favorite is the 2×2×2×2, which includes eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausage. Several types of eggs available, including sunny side up, scrambled, and omelette. Lots of pancake choices, including regular, chocolate chip, and pecan pancakes. Also have great lunch sandwiches and dinner options. Good location off Manchester Rd. Great service too. Good coffee...

Meh... Sometimes, there's a place I've known about for years but never gotten around to going. I think to myself it's been open for 30 years got to be good.? Nah, I was thinking it might be some like a Denny's. Nope, more like a truck stop feeling with mediocre food over priced. $34ish for 2 golden French toast plates with eggs and bacon. They did have some pies on display that looked like they might be tasty.

I liked the food, but my husband did not. Fried chicken and chocolate chip pancakes were both pretty good. Eggs were not cooked as requested. Service was slow. I still will go back.

Customer service was terrible along with the dry food I was served, I asked for a omelette which had cheese on one side not melted just a clump of cheese I patiently waited on the waitress and to my surprise she never returned to check on US I finally got her attention and asked her about my cheese and the omelette being burnt with cold cheese and she explained they only put a sliced rolled in the middle I then asked why she never came to check on us during the visit she said idk I really had a terrible experience food was dry, burnt and bland and customer service was horrible from ( Amy On Manchester whose been there for years per the host up front.. Just terrible

02/12/24 My husband and I went in for a quick breakfast we were seated right away a middle aged lady came and asked if we wanted coffee BUT she stopped to watch TV for 2 minutes before ( yes I was watching the clock) we got our coffee and sat for 15 minutes, not one server came by and asked if we were ready to order they kept walking past us so I paid for our coffee (because GOD does not like thieves) $6.49 2 coffees and left oh and we were the only black patrons besides the black lady cleaning the tables. I will never I mean never spend my hard earned Dollars with them. The cashier apologized but I felt I needed to get this out there. Horrible customer service just horrible

I forgot to take pictures with the food, which is always fantastic. The waitresses are always wonderful.

This was my first time at this location. Food was ok but the service sucked. They had us waiting for 15 mins while they debated on whose table or area it was. 3 different people asked had we been helped and none of them came to help. We said no, they said, let me find out whose area this is. Atmosphere wasn't that impressive. Not again will I go here. And the worst part, the bathrooms were out of order.

Not many people when we came in. The server got our drinks fast. We made our order. When our food arrived. It was just warm. My cod fish had three pieces all of them were not cooked the same. Asked for tartar sauce waited about 15 minutes. Fish was now cold. Found the server she now told me they were just making the tartar sauce. Corn was bland. And my meal was supposed to come with two buns. Did not get them. Went to pay the not so friendly lady asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I told her 15% she changed 17%. Not going back.

This place is exactly what you want it to be: traditional comfort food, nothing fancy. The eggs are cooked just right, hash browns cooked to your liking (extra crispy please!) and the coffee is hot and never runs out. I love that there is a fireplace in the center of the room making it feel cozier, and the service is really fast. We've been here a couple times with a large group and they still get the meals out quickly. All the staff are professional and nice, and since you pay at the register, you don't feel like you're waiting around for the bill. If I'm for some reason starving at 3am on a Tuesday, I know I can go to Uncle Bill's because they are open 24 hours!

In the beginning this place was jam bussy and food was great but the service was little bid ok. Ok? Yea we were the last in when they toke our order.

My wife and I have never been to the Uncle Bill's in West County. We were in the area, so we went there for breakfast. The restaurant was very crowded. We each oordered their $12.95 breakfast and I ordered coffee. The coffee was fine and the service was good considering the crowd, however, the food was room temperature. We sent it back to be heated up, but the taste was poor. I was very disappointed because I wanted to treat my wife to breakfast and it was a bummer. The bill for breakfast was $37 with tip. Definitely not worth it! When I paid my bill, I told the person that I was disappointed, she did not respond. My experience must have not been typical because the restaurant was very crowded, but it is worth noting.

Wait time was minimal, table was clean. Lay who seated is did not provide menus. The server was pushy (rushing is to order). Food was good (my omelet had egg shells and was fried hard).

Overall great experience. Short wait for seating, great service, fair prices, good food. Pancakes were a little burnt and dry, but the biscuits and gravy were good. Would return again.

The food quality is low, and prices are high. Getting more low quality food doesn't justify the prices. The pancakes taste like a key ingredient is missing from the batter! One bright spot - the grits were good.

First time here. Great breakfast. Sat and enjoyed the wait I had for an appointment somewhere else. They kept the coffe flowing.

Been coming here for years. Lately for months the food can be good but the delicious fried chicken isn’t anymore. And the hostess who wears a bib mask makes people wait while she either disappears or fills water glasses instead of seating people or taking people’s money, plus she gives the appearance of “unclean” which isn’t attractive in an eatery. We’ve watched people wait 10 minutes. Something has happened to the Manchester Uncke Bills that we don’t come often anymore.

What you'd expect from a breakfast place. Food is good, service a little rough, atmosphere is par for the course for a long-standing breakfast joint.

As with just about everywhere, staffing was an issue. Took more than 20 min to get greeted.

We went in on a Sunday morning. I was worried about it being busy and not being seated quickly but the line went very fast. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Friendly staff as well.

The food is great. The server pretty well forgot about me after she collected my empty plate. Refilling my water should have still been a possibility for her. She went from a 10 dollar tip down to a 5 dollar tip. Besides that she was pleasant and got our orders correct. My only criticism is the floor is filthy. I got there at 4 pm on day before Thanksgiving and there was nobody there. Staff was sitting around not doing anything. There's no reason to have that much debris on the floor when there's nothing else going on. I'll come back again.

Delicious food, great service and value

Arrived to location at 9:08pm on a Wednesday evening because it says they close at 10:00pm on Wed-Fri. But the doors were locked and they didn't even acknowledge us at the door to say not open or anything...such a shame.

Denny's... probably was a Denny's in the past. However, slightly better than the location on S. Kingshighway...

We live In Tennessee, every visit to St. Louis we make appoint to eat at uncle Bill’s. The best yummy breakfast , you could ever eat. This place is absolutely the best place that staff is amazing. Mrs Lila she’s so nice and a hard worker. We can’t wait to come back to uncle Bills.

Bathroom smelled dirty upon walking in , the wait was entirely too long to still get overcooked pancakes, the food for the most part was okay however people came in after my family and were promptly severed; not sure how the tickets are being placed in the kitchen . This place at one time was 5 star 3 or so years ago. I don't see myself making another special trip for expensive food and not so great services. I appreciate the hostess more than our server.

Service is not good. They tend to overload the servers then they struggle to keep up with the tables resulting in extremely bad service. Food is ok, nothing to write home about.

Food arrived quickly, service however was somewhat poor. The woman tending the coffee spent more time helping us (and with a warm, welcoming attitude) more than our server. Great variety of menu options and was grateful to see they are actually open 24hrs and serving a full menu throughout the day. The food itself was unremarkable, I had a Belgian waffle with a strip of bacon and a sausage link, with a scrambled egg on the side. Husband ordered the 4D, with pancakes, bacon, & eggs. Serving portions were good. I had a hard time finishing off my waffle but managed. Restroom was not handicap friendly, the required handrails but too narrow to properly accommodate a wheelchair. It could use some TLC, a little updating, though not to interfere with the homey and, overall, old-fashioned appeal of the place. I would consider stopping again next time I'm in town, but would not go out of my way to do so.

Steamed vegetables were cold and mashed potatoes were also cold. Menu states that dinner rolls come with entrees but we didn’t get any.

We came during the late morning around 10:30am on a Monday .. it was ok to start, we waited about 15min even though there were tons of empty tables .. we finally got seated by a lady that basically just mumbled and laughed at them when a person with me said they were gluten free for a allergy SMH.. even said they had no gluten free options!! But they have plenty on the menu!! We waited almost 20min to see a waitress walk by and say she was our waitress but kept going!! Another 10min and she comes back . At this point we just order everything to be done... Then we waited 45min for our food!! I watched people come and go before our food came.. this place used to be amazing!!! WTH happened?? Over 2 hrs to get half cooked breakfast that tasted microwaved?? Back to IHOP for me

Great food, average service. My eggs over hard were perfectly buttery-crisp around the edges, and the pancakes were fluffy. Apple butter on the side was a delicious option!

The server was very nice. Atmosphere is the biggest problem. It's very dingy and old, carpeted throughout with decades of food stains and smells. Food was okay. Hash browns and country fried steak were served cold. Extremely pricey for what you get. A gentleman from the kitchen came out to look around the restaurant and was wearing a black trash bag around his waist. Assuming he was using it as an apron.

What's happened to this place? Over easy eggs and the white is still a little runny. I get 2 eggs, corned beef hash, hashbrowns and a coffee. For my toast/pancake option I get the pancakes and my 40 pound 7yo eats 1/3 of them. I order her a side (3pcs) of bacon and a juice. Total was like $25+ before tip. $30+ out the door and I got a whopping one refill on the coffee. Cup was empty for at least 5 mins of the meal. Had to steal a menu and napkins off another table as she never returned with them. I get good help is hard to find but it's completely new staff every time I go in. This is not the Uncle Bill's I remember in the mid 2000's

This place deserves zero stars. Waitress/server Leanne (pretty sure that was her name) probably one of the rudest, non friendly servers I have ever encountered in my entire life. Place was nasty filthy. Had to ask for a new coffee cup because the cup I was given was dirty and sticky. The food was soooooo gross. Eggs were cold. Pancakes were undercooked. Long story short DO NOT EAT HERE! I will never come back!
