Home cooking that is unmatched in the area. Great food, genuine family-owned business running the place with great service. The pork bulgogi is unreal. Love this spot!

This restaurant is located in the edge area of Hancheng, and many Koreans know this restaurant! This is a Korean restaurant that only Koreans go to. It is obviously authentic Korean food. This restaurant is more famous for its chili chicken soup! Friends who are afraid of spicy food, don’t worry, it’s neither salty nor spicy, and it’s delicious when paired with purple rice. A friend also recommended a plate of cod, it’s especially delicious!

The food here was unmatched. This is the most authentic, hearty, and delicious Korean meal in LA. The food was prepared quickly and the portions were humongous for the price. The service was overwhelmingly nice. The lady came to thank us for coming and made sure we felt comfortable. She packed our food to go meticulously and was the kindest person.

I ate the kimchi soup, but it didn't taste good. There was water in an ice box, and they scooped water up with a cup, but it was really unsanitary. She told me to eat at a small table, but the staff ate lunch at a large table. It was a little ridiculous.

Cannot say enough about the place. The food is really good. I thought I would take some pictures, but actually, I forgot. The lady at the desk is really cute. She cares for her customers. I was struggling with the long strand of noodles. She came and cut the noodles with scissors. ❤️❤️ Must visit. Prices are alright. Not too costly. Ordered fried dumplings, fish soup, ttyokboki, spicy noodles. Loved everything. Paid $56 for those 4 items. All the sides were delicious. Kimchi was my favorite. If you love spicy korean food, add this place to your list.

low-key authentic Korean restaurant. The ahjumma was so nice to us! Food is great: banchan (side dishes) - lots of variety! I liked the seaweed, fish cake, kimchi radish, and bean sprouts. Specials #13 seafood pancake $19.99 - Good. Not overloaded with green onions. The sauce that came with it could have been saltier. Specials #9 chicken stew $25.99 - spicy! Chicken was cooked well. Lots of potatoes. The small bones are annoying. #22 stone pot bibimbap $14.99 - tasty. The ahjumma brought out a bowl of gochujang filled to the top. It was good and not too sweet. #9 chewy spicy noodles $13.99 - delicious. I'd get this again. Came with a soft boiled egg. Specials #12 stir-fried squid $24.99 - I'd get this again too. The rice cake was eh, but the squid was good. Not too spicy. Prices are a bit high, but so is everywhere else right now. The menu is extensive but has some solid favorites. They have a small parking lot in this plaza, so it wasn't hard to find at 7 PM on a week night. Typical of a local Korean joint, they post menu items with prices on the walls. Even better - they have pictures of the food!

It was an incredibly hard decision to make between gatekeeping this spot and giving it its due credit. As a transplant from NYC, I have enjoyed many a meal in LA but frankly haven’t been blown away. Experience has taught me that what restaurants put into their “instagrammable” aesthetic, is what they take away from the quality of their food often resulting in overpriced mediocrity. Whereas the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it spots like this one offer quality AND bang for your buck. I got all this in just one bibimbap order and spent around $15. It was fresh, flavorful, and filling. My ONLY gripe is that there was not nearly enough meat in there but I’m willing to forgive. I will be back for sure, and I will be bringing everyone I know.

Hands down best meal I had in L.A. Stumbled upon this humble eatery located in a little casual/run down strip mall, but the food does not reflect that at all. Quality handmade noodles to go in my spicy seafood soup (maybe noodles were a touch overcooked but probably just because my soup was superr hot)- and do you see the size of that bowl?? That was meant to feed two I'm sure now lol. But I finished it all with a little broth leftover (with some help from my friend). Her Spicy Beef Soup was also really delicious, with a very flavorful, deeply beefy broth, and a generous portion of beef - it has lots of ingredients in it including glass noodles, and came with a side of purple rice of course. The last thing we ordered to share was the seafood pancake, which was also really lovely. It could've been even crispier but the outside was a touch crispy with the interior being thick and fluffy. Lots of seafood in it though. On top of all this, we forgot the banchan was going to come too - which was also very abundant. There were so many dishes. All in all we were past stuffed (would have taken more leftovers but we had to leave town the next day so we wanted to finish what we could) - so we only had half the seafood pancake leftover. The ajumma serving us was so sweet and service was great. Can't wait to go back next time!

I fell upon this place on a Sunday afternoon. It's a wonderful and cozy Mom and Pop shop. The menu items are in Korean with some English translation, and though my server was limited in their English, they were very polite and thoughtful as they taught me how to enjoy the dishes. The banchans were plentiful and I was delighted to find so many cold noodle soups on the menu. The cold noodle radish soup I ordered was the perfect antidote to that hot day. I'm still thinking about my soup and when I can go back for more...

I think the food might be pretty close to the local Korean taste because when we were there, almost all customers speak Korean and they seemed to know the owner of this restaurant. We ordered the spicy chicken stew, kimchi pork stew, and the chicken noodles, they were all good and came in large quantity. I'd say for the spicy it's truly spicy and if someone can't eat spicy, then the chicken noodle is a good choice. The atmosphere was very welcoming and all the side dishes tasted good. I'd want to come here again next time I'm in the area.

We understood that this place is always mobbed based on other's reviews. We deliberately went there at 3 pm on a Tuesday. We were greeted by the owner, grandmother herself. Within 30 seconds we got mocgirl-li. We were served 14 varieties of ban-chan, that included a small dish of ttukbogi. Some of the ban-chan were rare in the usual Korean restaurants. Much later during the meal, the grandma offered us flavored and roasted nori plate perhaps because I was not a fan of spicy food. The steamed vegetable dumpling was plump and juicy with thin, delicate wrapper. It was one of best dumplings we have had. Cold buckwheat noodle soup was excellent and one of best I have had. Kimchi stew was outstanding but overwhelming in its flavor. This is homey, inexpensive, genuine Korean food and greatest value.

I'm a local and go here all the time. The food is consistently excellent. Best on menu are the noodle (guksu) dishes. The hot stone bibimbap is also outstanding, among the best I've had in LA. Service can be very slow if it's busy, but the nice lady who runs the place tries her best with limited staff. Definitely recommend this place.

People have told me that the Korean food in LA beats that in Bay Area, and if Western Doma is a reflection, I am a believer now! This is a hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is so good - we had their kalbi, seafood tofu soup and soba noodles - all of them were excellent (the cuts for the Kalbi could be better though, but that is the cow, not the cook!) The banchan was excellent, especially the kimchi and pickled turnip, and the rest...10 variety in all. Portions were large and prices were very reasonable! They even comped us a Korean dish - forgot what they called it but it is a dough cooked in spicy sauce (tasted and looked better than my description!) - very nice and my new favorite Korean dish! This place is run by a nice old lady - she could be anybody's aunt and seems like that from the way she interacts with the regulars. We were served by a hispanic server who spoke Korean - cool! I would go back to this place if I had the opportunity to do so!

If I lived in LA, this would be on my regular list of favs! We ate here in the middle of the afternoon and were the only customers, although more arrived later on. Service was great. The super sweet and polite older lady who waited on us made some suggestions since we wanted a "light" meal. Light meal in a korean restaurant with 12 kimchis and dukboki (rolled rice cakes -- super spicy) provided takes on a new meaning! We had the vegetable dumplings. Excellent choice. Very tasty and the dipping sauce was fantastic. We also had the spicy vegetables. Wow!! I could have that every day. The meal was accompanied by 12 different kimchis/side dishes and the dukboki. There was a kimchi to suit every palate. A great meal accompanied by mugicha (barley tea). For desert, try one of the exquisite macaroons or iced cookies at Twelve-Centimeter bakery located in the same little shopping center.

The Chicken Noodle Soup is AMAZING, the raving reviews are completely well deserved. I also tried their Cold Noodles, which the owner/waitress did not recommend, she urged me to get something else and said that the noodles didn't taste nice, I thought that was a bit strange but got it anyway - it tasted fine. Service is often very very slow, but the owners are very nice, and food is cheap.
