Just meh for me. We ordered fish & chips and did the $1 upgrade to Cod. Also small chicken salad and Bavarian pretzel app. The pretzels were great. The fish & chips is just one super size piece of fish. It was just ok. For the same price the grouper and fries at Frenchys just down the road is significantly better. Friday night service was very slow and did not seem to have nearly enough staffing. This is a one and done place for us

I've been to this place many times, over the years. Generally, I've had good food and a nice experience. I previously left a good review with four stars. But, my food the last two times has been terrible. Today I ordered a chef salad to go, and when I got home, I discovered that the hard-boiled egg included in my salad, was still in the shell. I also noticed that the roast beef looks like Fifty Shades of grey, and smelled rancid. I decided to go to the trouble of returning it, and ask for a refund, which I don't think I've ever done in my life. I wouldn't even be writing this review, had the owner not stood at the front examining this mess of a salad, and arguing with me about whether or not he would serve roast beef that was rotten. Clearly, if you are serving hard-boiled eggs that are still in the Shell as part of your chef salad, rancid roast beef is no surprise. In the servers defense, she was very apologetic and said she did not look at the food before she gave it to me. She is always very nice and gives great service. Otherwise, Cricketers, pull it together.

Nice place with British fare. Nice server, good portions! Just a shame older bldgs think a tiny stall wears equates to wheelchair accessible

Have been here multiple times. It's on our GO TO list. Food is always good and plentiful. TVs usually have on sports or trivia. Service is almost always above average even when busy. Quality traditional (American) British pub.

New bartender who doesn't like to speak, not good for the actual position he was hired for. Kellie was on fire behind the bar and took great care of us! Food was great and we met 2 new friends sitting at the bar!

Very shocked we waited for 30 minutes and still no server came to take our order. We go to this restaurant quite regularly. We ended up leaving without speaking to anyone since there is no good excuse for a 30 minute wait to not even be introduced to a server- not even a drink order. They were not busy.

I don’t even like British food sitting at the bar. But cricketer was so busy that night that we had no other choice and I’m so glad that we did because Vinny made our experience beyond pleasant and more than memorable. He was personable, attentive and catered to our most ridiculous request making sure our drinks were made to perfection. Again I don’t even like British food, but I’ll definitely be back to see him behind the bar, I’m sure the tables are good but he makes the bar THE spot to be at.

Nothing like ordering food online, wait an hour and my food was never made. Never going back again! Update: Since i can’t respond to your review. I have to edit my original review. You stated that you couldn’t find my order, but when my husband walked inside , 2 other to-go orders were fulfilled. 🤔🤔🤔🤔. If your restaurant overlooked my order, just say that, the restaurant was half full. Tanya, thank you for being sweet and sympathetic towards my husband, but the owner didn’t acknowledge/apologize, just barked that he needed to cancel thru grubhub. As far as the “future discount” there was no voucher given it was simply a verbal promise on a future visit. Which means peanuts if I go in and you’re off or forget a month from now. Shame on me? Shame on y’all for the way the entire situation was handled, can’t even run a restaurant properly! Be better, do better! Please do better!

Always fun exclamation point close to my home and a go to place for a quick bite to eat and a couple of drinks. Everybody there is friendly and fun! They have taco Tuesday and they also have great fish and chips in the famous British Style!

I'm not sure where to start... Maybe the best chicken tenders I have ever had in my life. Awesome burger, ruben was fantastic! pretzels are better then any pub pretzels I've had. Really I don't think you could go wrong with anything here. Atmosphere is very friendly.Live music on one night I went, triva on another. This is definitely one of my new favorites!!!

Crickiers is a great British pub the owner of Pat and his son Pat have done the great job taking care of customers. The staff is excellent. The food is excellent and the beer is cold and it’s a great place to watch a game.

This place was our regular "go-to" for a Sunday evening meal and a drink. However, Since Mike sold the bar last October (2023,) The place has been in a steady decline. The new owners are neither attentive, nor friendly. Food quality slipping. I ordered a garden salad with salmon and got no vegetables, save a couple cukes and tomatoes. The greens appear to have been downgraded, and the salmon was not of the same quality. It was definitely not worth $19 I paid! Beer prices have also increased by 2 dollars in some cases. All but a few of the old staff remain, which is a really bad sign. Worst of all, the owner's son who never lifts a finger to do anything but stare at his cell, was playing "touchy-feely" with one of the waitresses... rubbing her arm, caressing her face....IT WAS GROSSLY UNPROFESSIONAL and offensive. Sad to say, we will not be back.

We had a party of 32. The service was fantastic and the fish & chips were the best we've ever had!!

Watching Euro 2024 with friends, food and beer

Truly a British experience. I had an English breakfast for dinner tonight. Was delicious in every way. Couldn't eat it all.

This is definitely a British Pub atmosphere and food. It has that old PUB feel and vibe. The menu feature mainly British style which is consistently very good. We had the Shepherd's Pie and the Fish n Chips. Both were delicious.

No longer a smoky bar! Clean and a full service bar. However, service was slow and failed to bring items to the table after being asked TWICE to bring lemons to the table. Another seated at the table sat while waiting for the server that had too many tables to return prior to food getting cold. My French dip was brought to the table without the dipping broth. Once brought to the table, the container was too small to dip the French Dip Sandwhich in. A smoke free clean bar doesn't compensate for slow service and missing food items! I also didn't appreciate the large group with the Preacher LOUDLY reciting prayer in a PUBLIC RESTAURANT! So LOUD that even seated at the tier level below with hearing problems, still overheard his prayers. A PUBLIC Restaurant is NOT the location to hold LOUD PUBLIC sermons, instead of being respectful to the other diners going to Cricketeers to eat. NOT to attend Church services.

Duuuuuddeee! Bomb food!! A very hole in the wall kinda place. The shopping center is kinda run down but don’t judge a book by its cover. Place is good! Love the chicken tenders and fish and chips! For apps. The spinach and artichoke dip was awesome with fresh pita chips. Drinks are always top! The hospitality is always A+. They get busy but take a seat and relax for 2 min. Someone will be with you. People are always impatient. The bartender will be running around making drinks. But they know you are there. Relax. They got you. Butch is the bartender I had. Always great attitude. Pays attention to detail. Food is awesome. Gotta try it!! Big portions! Hidden gem! Ohhh P.S. onion rings for the side. Or is you’re a Ceasar Salad person. It’s the ticket.

Update: lost 3 stars based on my past experience. Staff appears to have changed over. Not as friendly as before. Waited 45 mins for my de8nk order... Wasn't even that busy of an afternoon. Food was good but came in after another 30 mins. Worst service ever at this place. Mentioned it to our server a few times and just got a silly excuse. Kind of ruined entire experience. Will think twice about coming back here again. Makes me sad to write this as we really liked this place. My previous review: Always yummy food and drinks and good service. I was looking for a good Fish and Chips place since I moved here a few years ago. I couldn't find a good one until I tried this place. There fish and chips are as good as they come and they have plenty of other great dishes to satisfy your appetite. If you're looking for some great Fish and Chips or just interesting meals then come by and check this place out.

Been coming here for a few years, this was the worst experience coming. Not sure if they have a new cook. But the Fish and chips tasted completely different and not good at all. The fries where cold and hard like they are old and tried to reheat. The French dip was cold and had no flavor. I couldn't eat any of it. The server didn't pay any attention to anything, we didn't eat the food and never asked us if anything was wrong. Server didn't seem to care and just brought us the bill and walked away. Never had issues like this here before.

Cricketers British Pub & Restaurant in Dunedin was like a total disaster. The tables were all dirty, the food tasted… well, not the food and the service? Ha, forget it. Save your fellow headache, this is really bad.

I like a good steak. I've had three steaks at this location. The first one was terrible. Very very grisly and fatty. The second one was really excellent but it was yours in between before I went back to try again. Just went back the other day and got my third steak which was good. Fatty not grizzly but had absolutely no flavor. Usually you do a dry rub or something. It had zero flavor. They did do an excellent job on the onions and mushrooms that were on top thank God they were there because they added some flavor.

Generous portions. Best fish & chips around! I also like the liver & onions (not everyone's thing), but I enjoy it when it's prepared well.

The atmosphere of Cricketers Pub is impeccable. Everyone is always smiling and so welcoming. Not to mention how amazing the food, especially the fish and chips and the Shepards pie. Each time I go to Cricketers I always have such an amazing experience! Definitely recommend.

Had a Great evening with 12 of us tonight! Tanya is Great!!! So accommodating, and FUN! Our waitress Kay did Awesome too! The Food was great too with very BIG portions! No one was disappointed! The band plays there every Monday and they were really AMAZING🤩 We know this is the place to go on Mondays!!!

I met some friends last night to listen to the band. It was taco Tues, so I ordered the shrimp tacos. The server did say that shrimp was an additional 1.99. What she forgot to say was EACH TACO WAS 1.99! The shrimp tacos were an additional $8! Not to mention, they were cut up pieces of shrimp resembling the size of a dime. Bringing it to management attention, was told the cost is high to make. NO OFFER TO REDUCE BILL OR ANYTHING! I JUST PURCHASED OVER A POUND OF FRESH SHRIMP AT PUBLICS FOR 10.99. THIS WASN'T EVEN A QUARTER OF A POUND IN 4 TACOS! TOTAL RIP OFF, VERY DISAPPOINTING AND MANAGEMENT DID NOT HANDLE SITUATION WITH ANY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, currently management, and I would have NEVER handled this in that manner. Make sure you look at your bill in Cricketers, before you too get ripped off!

Best Philly cheese steak. There were 16 of us ordering different item's, and everyone loved the food. The service was great. Atmosphere was comfortable. I will return and suggest it to anyone I know.

Haven't had the opportunity to dine in at this restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised by how good their food was when we ordered it through DoorDash. We've ordered multiple times now and quality has been very consistent. I'd recommend their salads, fried chicken tenders, wings, Reubens, and chips. Ranch and blue cheese here is 10/10.

Nice place for lunch. Our server Krista H was awesome. Food came out quickly. Husband ordered a Patty Melt. I ordered the Reuben. Both meals were very good. Cute little place with a very British vibe. Everything on the menu is exceptional.

5 of us came for lunch and not one of us were disappointed. The portion size is very generous and our server Kay was fantastic! Very very please and will be back for sure.

We had a great dinner! We shared the Guinness pie with mashed potatoes and a Reuben. Pretzel sticks were really good, cheese sauce was okay, would have preferred beer cheese or mustard. The bread pudding was awesome! I loved the drink menu. They had Pimm's Cup which was so good it reminded me of my trip to England. Tons of beer on tap. The Old Speckled Hen, Harp and Killkenny were really good. We sat outside with our pup Mac and our waitress Tegan brought him water, so sweet. She was a really great server. We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

If you want real British food you must try here. We had Shepherds pie and Cornish Pasty. They were sooo good!! Don't forget the HP sauce for the Cornish Pasty. Lots of parking available. It is located in a plaza. Beer is good too.

Cricketers is our favorite stop when in the Dunedin area. We always enjoy the excellent food and attentive service. The spinach dip and beer pretzels are a must have. I look forward to our next visit.

Taste of the British isles, but lacking in British beers

One of the best restaurants in Palm Harbor. My husband and I visited recently and had the chefs haddock special, It was delicious and the peas were fantastic. The service was spot on and very pleasant. I love this place.

The food was okay, but it's a fun place with a singer and a guitar on Tuesday nights.

Rude, rude, rude is what we encountered from multiple employees by just asking to get in the wait-list. This used to be a favorite place of ours, not any more. We were treated so rudely we decided to leave and went somewhere else. We fully understand busy, and long waits but that never excuses being rude to your customers.

Made a last minute decision to eat here as it was close to the hotel. It’s in a strip mall so our expectations were tempered. But it turned out to be a great place to eat. My burger was really good as was the liver and onions of my dining partners. And the appetizer onion rings were fantastic. And we had a 3 piece band playing classic pop songs (not loud) and we really enjoyed that We would come back in a heartbeat

It looks amazing, haven't eaten here. But it smells so good. I think typical bar food. This is the place for 45 and up though..and always a new type of live music FROM 🎶 piano to polka to jazzy classics. :) 😀 this place is a the classy, local, older crowd but all are welcome.

Had been meaning to get to this British pub for the much hyped fish n chips. Rolled in on a Saturday afternoon to get lunch and without looking at the menu ordered the fish n chips (fried cod) with cole slaw and a sweet iced tea. I was not disappointed as sitting at the bar watching soccer, hockey and basketball the food service was quick, fresh and hot. Even the cole slaw (which I'm picky about) was on point. Huge portion of fish and plenty of chips. Butch the bartender was all over everything service wise and was extremely pleased with the vibe (good local feel with a lot of patrons). I will go ahead and say, the visit was worth the hype and Cricketers has the best fish n chips in north Pinellas county....

Excellent service and excellent food

We moved down here 3 years ago. Found this place by accident. We started food was excellent and service. Yesterday was the worst waited 25 minutes to get waited on. Even put my timer on my phone after 10 min went by. I wanted to leave, however, my husband got up and asked hostess for a server. (Because he likes their fish). Than the “great debate” over who was going to wait on us between the hostess and 2 servers. We finally had a “chosen one”. Ordered appetizers. I went to thrift store next door while my husband waited. I came back just as appetizers arrived. Fish was excellent. Portions were smaller and the table next to us got waited on right away because they were friends with server. We enjoyed the cod. However, I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon. Very negative experience. I have a deep fryer, I can google the batter and make it at home. At least we will have an idea when we will eat. And we are not snooty people.

We had great food and service and the prices were good. We were there around 1:30. So.etime the timing makes the difference.

Went with my parents. This is their favorite spot in town for haddock. The food is excellent and we are always treated so nicely by waitstaff!!! We love the television sets to keep up with sports as we dine.

tldr; incredibly helpful and friendly staff, delicious food, and great atmosphere! I ordered via Uber Eats, and when my order was mistakenly cancelled, I called and the staff offered to check with the kitchen to see if my order still went through, which it had, and I was able to pick up my food after all. Made the meal taste even better! :) The atmosphere inside was cozy, casual, and calm, and everyone I spoke to was welcoming and helpful. The portions were very large with enough for leftovers, so definitely worth the price! The seasoned fries and chicken tenders were perfect. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

We've had several meals at Cricketers - all delicious. Last week we each ordered the lunch sized special of fried shrimp. It was delicious, and the portions are generous.

The food is so good! Such a wide variety and everything is delicious. Burgers great! Corned beef reuben amazing! Fish n' Chips yummy! Love, love , love their onion rings. Shrimp, delicious! Steak & cheese, yes please!

First time going, and I have to say that my experience was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, on point with everything. I would definitely recommend and will definitely go back to eat.

Haven’t been to Cricketers in afew years. My friend was in town so we went as we use to go fairly regular. Service was good, Atmosphere good but unfortunately the Fish and Chips were not like before😞I use to think they were a 10 now maybe a 6 . Disappointed.

I love the food but it’s a shame the new management stopped the ability to order a lunch portion for dinner. I just don’t need that much food and I understand why the prices had to jump so much but a shame they had to do away with that choice. Now I have to get an appetizer because their portions are just too large but the service continues to be impeccable.
