La Madison Blanche is a hidden treasure along the Chenango River. It has a truly impeccable assortment of classic and contemporary desserts. The mini cakes (petits gâteaux) that I bought for my birthday were each divinely crafted. The chocolate mousse cake was by far my favorite with the rich yet soft melt in the mouth exterior with the sweetness of cake inside. The chocolate ganache cake slice was a bit more firm in texture and a bit less sweet than the chocolate mousse cake, which was a welcome comparison. The napoleon was pillowy, flaky, and perfectly executed with the icing and creme filled layers of pastry. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect balance of blissful berry sweetness and rich decadent cream. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the cafe. The coffee was strong and aromatic. The crepes with berries and cream were a wonderful treat in the morning. The cream was perfectly offset with the sweetness of the berries. Thank you for such an incredible experience. I will be returning soon.

Amazing quaint atmosphere with some of the best breakfast items I’ve had in a very long time. The andouille sausage croissant sandwich and yogurt parfait were 10/10 as well as the caramel latte.

This is surely an OVER-PRICED veritable Rip-Off of a true French bakery. This wannabe joint survives thanks to this small rural town in which it is situated offering no real Euro experience. Indeed, the only experience is a monetary rip-off with sullied taste of all its second-class fare. Naturally none of its duped clientele will acquiesce to this reality. The owner is from uber-rip-off Manhattan, and she also cons the locals with her equally over-priced Bohemian Moon restaurant a mile up the road.

Phenomenal croissants! I had the raspberry one. We also got a variety of their other bakery treats, all of which were wonderful. Such a hidden gem! We drove an hour to check this place out and will definitely do so again. They also had great coffee!

Excellent place for delicious pastries, loaves of bread, lunch, and coffee! You can even get a nice birthday cake here. There is a great little living room to have lunch with a friend or a more modern area if you prefer. There is also a nice patio on the side at the end of a wheelchair ramp.

So I meant to add this review about a month and a half ago when I was there but life was a little hectic for me at that time. I've always seen this place while on the way to Norwich and never thought about stopping in, mainly because I never had enough time. When I went there I was fresh off the job and my brother wanted to go so we stopped in. Everybody was very friendly and patient which was a giant plus because my brother is socially awkward and I'm just not a super social person outside of work. My brother had one of the crepes they offer, can't remember which one, and I had thr croque monsieur with a side salad and everything was incredible, and even the chef brought us our dishes which I've never had before, but was a very pleasant surprise. The baked goods were all to die for and I highly recommend giving everything a try there. We will definitely be back soon and dare I say this has become a new favorite place of mine to visit and eat at.

This was our first visit and will absolutely not be our last! We ordered a turkey apple panini, croque madame, and a brie and apple sandwich on a baguette. Each was delightfully served with a mixed green salad. All three of us loved our food! To top it off, we ordered two tarts and a chocolate mousse that were all amazing! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The cost of our fantastique lunch was between $50 & $60, a decent price to pay for lovely cuisine in a lovely Victorian Era Mansion! We will definitely return!

Absolutely lovely. I had a turkey panini, an apple turnover, and a mouse shaped pastry. All so delicious! This was my first time but it will most definitely not be my last. The view is wonderful, the people are sweet, and the food is amazing. Plus reasonably priced!!

I visit this place at least once when I go to Norwich for the Chenango Blues Festival. We discovered it by accident a few years back and it is part of the CBF experience for us! Delicious baked goods, wonderful crepes and paninis and very nice teas and lattes. Staff is friendly. There is a nice outdoor patio with a lovely view if the weather is nice, indoors has various sized tables to accommodate your dining needs

Worth a trip to Norwich just to stop here...everything is beyond delicious and will delight your palette...

10/10 new favorite place in chenango county. Amazing fresh food. Great atmosphere/vibes. Back porch overlooks a lovely backyard, a little nook away from the Walmart and the KFC/Taco Bell next door. Rooms to dine inside are big - if you decide to bring a book or some work, you feel welcomed to sit there at your leisure and spend a lot of time without having to continuously spend money. There is space for you to get the quiet you need, unlike a chain coffee shop or like a Panera. I love the staff’s attitude, and I love being able to see into the spacious, clean kitchen. Desserts are great, but so are the savory meal items. I recommend a quiche if you are in the mood. The first time I tried theirs I thought, this is like eating a dunkin brekkie sandwich from down the street, at the same price, but with cleaner ingredients. Workers are lovely. This place is special. They advertise for a lot of good causes in our area. I enjoy being a customer here.

The service was great. The gentleman that was working alone was awesome. He was cooking, serving, making coffee, checking people out and doing it all with a smile, and being very professional. We ate there and brought some stuff home. Everything was incredible.

Incredible. I wouldn't expect to find such a fantastic French bakery in a little mountain side town, but here I am, drinking fantastic coffee, eating a real crepe with real chocolate and fresh whipped cream. The staff is great, and the view is astounding. 10/10 wish I lived here just for this place.

They have shortbread cookies that will knock your socks off and make you want to dance in the grass in your bare feet just like us kids did when we were children...it's a MUST GO THERE PLACE OF DELIGHT!

Stopped by on a beautiful Saturday around lunchtime and found the place to be empty of customers. I had high expectations because I am a fan of Bohemian Moon, their sister establishment. The pastry cases were picked over and not at all what others have shown in photos attached to their reviews. I did consider though how it was later in the day on Saturday and this is probably the type of place where you need to get there early for the best selections. What left me disappointed is we could see into the kitchen and several people made eye contact with us. All of them turned their heads. No one came out to ask if we would like something. I definitely would have purchased some treats had I been asked. It was the complete opposite of the friendly experience I've had the Bohemian Moon. After standing near the register awkwardly for several minutes being ignored we left and sadly won't return.

What an awesome, unexpected treat in Norwich. Myself and a group of friends went here on Sunday afternoon and had such a wonderful meal. Lots of delicious food and do NOT get me started on those baked goods. That chocolate mousse cake is calling my name...I already feel like I need to go back just for that! Reasonable pricing and accommodating for a larger party as well. Space to sit out on the deck or inside with the AC. Beautiful spot and great quality items--we will be back!

Best bakery/café I have ever been to. The selection of pastries and treats is honestly amazing. It's difficult to decide just which one you want! The crêpes are perfect to start your morning with or at any other time! Service was kind as well and patient while we chose.

What a lovely place! Always refreshing and each item baked with care! Croissants as large as your face, and coffee so wonderful and never over priced! I'm very happy they made it through the year of crazy! This small but intimate bakery is amazing as a dog trainer sometimes have to meet clients in public places with their dogs training and this is the perfect meet up place where are you can grab a bite to eat and work with the dogs out in public.My daughter loves their spinach and cheese croissants and said if she only had something to eat for the rest of her life it would be that one item from their bakery.. I would bring friends, Family, clients, and would recommend them to anyone looking for just a really good place to eat.

Excellent French pastries and coffee/tea shop. Expensive for this area but what a treat. Definitely worth it. After eating pastries, my thoughts were, damn these are good. We are lucky to have a bakery with such delicious goodies. I wouldn't buy daily but if I has guests or special occasions and I wanted special treats, this is where I'll go in the future. Also if I was to meet a friend for coffee; tea, or hot cocoa, this is where I would go. Very nice old home atmosphere.

I was a little disappointed with my experience today. I asked for extra sugar in my coffee. The server, a young blonde, asked how much. I said 4 packets or tsps or whatever. She said that she was worried that she would put too much, so she didn't put any sugar in my coffee. I'd have to put it in myself. Then she didn't give me any sugar packets and I forgot to ask because I was running late and felt rushed. When I told her that she really couldn't have put *too much* sugar in my coffee, she sneered at me. I just wanted to support a local business and I know that the owner is a good person. But today I felt like I overpaid for nasty coffee and was made to be late. The sandwiches were excellent.

I've enjoyed every item I've had here. The baked goods and pastries are amazing. My favorites are the raspberry croissant and the mocha. The quiche is also delicious. A great choice for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. This place is an unexpected gem. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Lovely atmosphere and amazing coffee plus good prices! Their ice coffee now has espresso ice cubes, so your drink is never watered down!

Nice bakery cafe! I got the croque madame and apple-pecan tart and both were delicious! The egg on the madame was cooked perfectly. My coworkers also liked what they ordered. I was able to call ahead of time for a takeout order and picking it up was super simple and easy.

The staff was super friendly and really helpful. The pastries were out of this world.

A charming cafe overlooking distant hills. The savory dishes are light and tasty. The sweets are much closer to European standards, which is great if you prefer rich and lightly sweetened desserts. A definite gem for any small town.

I needed to find a bakery. The feeling of nyc multi cultural status. So here in my new village of Norwich. I found this quaint little french bakery. I was pleased with service and there hospitality.

What a marvellous bakery that brings me back to my time spent in France. Loved everything about this place. Staff were ultra friendly. I tried the chocolate mousse, fruit tart and creme brûlée. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you had told me that I was back in France, I would’ve believed you. Bought a few treats as a thank you gift and it was the best thing I could think of. Merci beaucoup for a delightful Sunday treat!

Got the Chocolate Cheesecake Fondant from here. Very rich and delicious. The outside of the building is a little rough but even during COVID quarantine it was still very friendly!
