If not for the screeching child whose parents did nothing it would have been perfect

The wait staff is excellent! Very kind and efficient!

This will be our last time at Madison. We were charged a $2 split plate fee, even though there was no mention of that on the menu; my wife and I have been here often over the last two years, always splitting a plate, but never with a split-plate charge until yesterday. It's obnoxious to be charged so much for virtually nothing, especially when I had two glasses of their overpriced wine. They didn't even split the plate for us--we had to do that ourselves, and we had to request an extra plate, even after ordering the meal to split. The atmosphere is generally okay, but nothing special. Service tends to be decent, but again, nothing special. The food is decent, though their burgers tend to fall apart very easily because of their choice of the brioche buns that they use. That's it for us--there are other places in town to go that don't overcharge customers because they're not willing to eat a plate that's more than double the size of a healthy meal.

The Mad Vermont sandwich was the best sandwich I've ever eaten and I've eaten literally all over the world!

Great spot for a flight and food. Onion rings were very good, food came out hot and fresh. Liked that they put fresh blueberries in the blueberry beer, cute touch.

I used to love to go to Madison's, but it has changed. It now has strange menu categories and high prices, which are especially problematic, given that this area is not a thriving metropolis.

Every time we come here it’s great from the craft beer to the entree’s. I would like to make a suggestion though, being a transplant from California, the salsa here needs more flavor. Please add Roasted jalapeño's white onion and garlic. Really roasted… like peel the skin off the jalapeño roasted… and fresh cilantro. That’ll really make your Chips n Salsa appetizer worth writing home about. 😊

The atmosphere and food was amazing. It took a few minutes for the bartender to notice us and get our beers. Highly recommended this place!!!

Great pub and food; however I recommend you NOT buy gift cards to this restaurant. I purchased a $75 gift card for a friend and 45 days later when they got to use it, it was no where to be found (I'm remote so I had to call it in and 'leave' at the restaurant). So my friend had to pay that evening - luckily they let me know about it after the fact. After several phone calls and proof I purchased the gift card, they did refund my friend's credit card of the $75 but I was disappointed when the owner didn't call me back as I requested. Instead, the owner called my friend and tried to explain that they waited too long to use it and that they can't keep stuff like that around for long. Unfortunately this 'treat' to a favorite restaurant didn't turn out as I had hoped. Even worse, I don't like how the situation was handled. Update from owner's response: Unfortunately our facts from this event differ. Due to this, I can not recommend this establishment.

Great brewery with a wide menu, something for everyone! Had a publike atmosphere, was a bit crowded but we felt like we had plenty of room at our high-top. Food was excellent, probably my only complaint was it was a bit slow but that's understandable due to how busy it was. Our server Adam was awesome as well!

My main problem is price. $80 for a grilled cheese sandwich, a salad, 2 soups, and 2 beers is pretty steep. The food was good, but it didn't warrant the price.

we got the mac and cheese, bean and vegetable soup, and nachos. they were all pretty good, and the wait time was short despite a busy evening.

Super cute place and decor, easy parking. Took order right away, ordered beer and sodas. Ordered soups and appetizer then told out of ale cheddar soup. Got a burger fish and chips and mac and cheese with pulled pork. All was good esp on a cold day. She never came to check or get refills on beer or drinks. She then. Barges us for the soups they were out of. She did apologize. If they didn’t spend so much time talking to locals or their friends they would get better reviews from tourists. Again the food was great and we will try it again when we return.

I ordered a steak...it was smaller than my palm...it had no flavor. I paid 40 $s for a steak that wouldn't have filled my 4 year Olds belly..the waitress was incredibly rude. NEVER again.

So I love this place most of the time and as you can see from my rating I still gave them above average on most counts. Service is friendly, beer is great, atmosphere isn’t bad (though if you’re sitting where I was with the sun beating in on you from the window it can get a bit warm) but today I was baffled by the pot roast special. It was a tad pricy but the thing that got me about it and as you can see from the pics, it was pretty dry especially with no gravy or pot roast broth. I couldn’t finish the pot roast itself but everything was decent otherwise (the green beans weren’t seasoned either). I’ve had other dishes here that were awesome though. Highly recommend the cheese curds and pumpkin ale!

Food is great, service is slow as weight loss! Probably won’t go back, unless we have a couple of hours to eat lunch. This is not an exaggeration! We were there for 2 hours!

Excellent food and service every time we frequent

Wish I knew how the food was. Walked in and stood there a bit before the “greeter/hostess” walked over and without uttering a single word just points to one side of the room. No “hello” “welcome” not a single word, not even a smile. Walks me through the crowded bar seating area to place me in what could best be described as a cubicle in front of the window making it very warm and very bright with the sun blasting in my face. I waited and she came back over with the table settings and again said nothing and was equally as rude so I just left. Maybe people in Bennington don’t have many options so they put up with that but I went somewhere else and had a phenomenal experience.

This is the second time I have tried this local brewery. The beer is great! Sadly the food is not as good. My question is why would the kitchen burn your food and then think ya it’s ok to send out to the customer….. I will not return to this establishment again.

Very busy place on a Sunday afternoon- were told the wait was 30-35 minutes, actual wait was 15 minutes. Was told the kitchen was running behind, from the time of the order to when it arrived on the table about 15 minutes. Mel's Killer Club and the MBC House Salad with Chicken were our selections- both hit the spot. Love a place that under promises and out performs. Our server, Sydney, did a great job. Parking was a breeze, less than a 100' away on the street. We enjoyed our meals and would be back.

It took 45 min to get 3 dishes 2 being soup. the restaurant was full of flys. Besides all that the food was pretty was good. I would say this place should be 3rd on a list of places to eat.

The fish and chips was pretty good, the fish was surprisingly a very large piece. My friend ordered the burger special which unfortunately did not come with fries unlike the rest of the typical burgers, and he got those added. The quantity of toppings on his burger though, was fairly lacking. Just a couple peppers and mushrooms

We had a great time here and it was a lively welcoming place. It’s pub fare but done very well. The woodford red ale I had was tremendous.

We made a side trip to Bennington and stopped here for a late lunch. Food was amazing, and staff was extremely nice. Highly recommend.

The food is flavorful and delicious. I think the big plates are not as big as you'd hope, I regretted not ordering an appetizer. But I still really enjoyed everything.

We are visiting Vermont. It was recommended that we go here from the hotel we were staying at. It was a Saturday night. We got in had to wait a while to be seated. That was the only thing that was slightly disappointing. It was busy. Service was good once we got seated. I enjoyed the food. Everything was fine. I noticed that it took longer for other people to get seated after we got there. Be a very popular spot in the area to go to.

My girlfriend and I travel often. And sample Pubs in all corners of America looking for the best burger. We happened along this place and we’re very pleased with the quality of the burgers, the atmosphere, and the level of service. It remains in our top 5 on the burger bucket list. A must visit!

Been coming here for years whenever we're in the area. Great staff, very complete menu from appetizers to dessert and all at reasonable prices. Great bar downstairs, too!!!

Entire meal was fantastic. Wife and I stopped here on our way back from New York. We got two flights of beer to start, and every one was awesome, especially the French toast brown. For food we got the bier brats (honestly the best I’ve ever had) and a special maple bacon jam burger (also phenomenal!). Portion sizes were great and the leftovers the following day were just as good as the night before. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place, the experience and the food/beer could not have been better. Oh and the 90s country music playlist they had on during dinner was perfect! Don’t change a thing, keep up the great work!

Came for beer and a few bites and were very impressed. We had the peanut butter stout which was creamy and chocolaty and the french toast stout which was also excellent. We had the brussels sprouts and the mussels, both of which were perfection. The service was excellent too. Overall vibe was lots of fun even though we came on a very quiet night. Would definitely come again.

Waitress was good but we noticed while we were waiting she liked to talk to the waitresses a little more than focus on the customers

Stopped in while visiting. Great food and drinks! Got a flight of a myriad of beers. If you’re looking for a good food and drinks this is the place for you. Our waitress was also super friendly and attentive.

They charge a surcharge if you pay with credit. I calculated it to be 3.8% on my final credit card statement. Nobody bothered to tell me, but it was on the bottom of the receipt in small type. Not something a lot of customers know or look at and I missed it. Just be advised, use debit or cash to save the money.

MBC has become our favorite, go-to place in Bennington. Always interesting, unique brews, delicious food, and friendly service, even on a busy Friday evening. They have incredible burgers, the French Dip is outstanding, and the pork schnitzel the main draw for me.

The Fajita Bowl, the Vermont Chicken and we opened with the Brussel Sprouts. Fantastic meal! Our server Jess was outstanding and friendly. Will add this to our “must stop” list whenever we come up to ski.

Went in for beer and an appetizer. Great atmosphere. Had the pretzels which were great. Really enjoyed each beer we tried, two flights of 4 tasters each. Our server was very friendly and attentive as well. Great visit.

Since you asked, The tomato soup was cold and tasted more like a thinned out lumpy ketchup. The truffle-flavored fries were chewy and tasted like they likely suffered from freezer burn. The beer was great! Hope this helps.

An authentic Rustic pub experience, and the food very high level, all of our mains were delicious. Nice selection of ales too. Service was attentive but not intrusive, all round a good experience 👍

This place kept our credit card information and charged us 3 weeks later. They are thieves. Dont eat here!!!!!!

We waited an hour for the food to be served and the burgers were undercooked. Two of our party received their appetizers and meals before the other three received anything. Because of the wait we were the last people to leave the restaurant although we weren’t the last people to arrive at the restaurant by any means.

My husband & I stopped here on are way from Philadelphia to the White Mountains over our holiday vacation; we'd been in the car for @ 6 hrs and needed a dinner break! I ordered the Bier Brats and my husband ordered the Brewhouse Burger; we both got Downeast Cider. My brats came with a small side of mashed potato, asparagus, and sauerkraut. I've made sauerkraut at home, and this kraut was just like mom's! SO GOOD. The mashed potatoes were delicious and the asparagus was cooked al dente- to perfection. I was really, really impressed. The brats were super tasty. My husband really enjoyed his burger & sweet potato fries. We were both so pleasantly surprised; service was good. We'd definitely stop in here again.

Stopped by around 7:30 PM after a long day in the car. Clam Chowder and sweet potatoes fries were good. Kourtney our server was very personable.

Grate boneless chicken friendly staff

Annual trip up to Bennington and decided to give this pub a try. Glad we did. Not only are their beers delicious, we each enjoyed an 8 oz burger with bacon, cheese, onion ring & bbq sauce. He had fries, I had onion rings, that were crispy and tender. Just the way I like them. Great menu selections. Wish we lived closer so I could try more selections!

Must try the Brussel sprouts appetizer!

Best bartender we've had since probably 2015 anywhere. Zach was great. Excellent customer service. Great recommendations for food - Mac and cheese w grilled chicken delicious. Beer is great - nice to find a vermont brewery with options other than IPAs. Pumpkin ale the best so far of any kind ! Chocolate peanut butter porter outstanding. Zach made the experience top notch. Will go back again - for the food - and for the great service at the bar.

A restaurant swarming with flies is never a great sign and, in hindsight, should have been impetus to leave straight away. I made the mistake of having the Cobb salad, or more specifically the kitchen staff made the mistake of not cleaning themselves after private time. If you enjoy paying too much, vomiting half the night, and purging your intestines the other half this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are a number of other options in town, all of which are less likely to sicken you. Follow up: we called and chatted and they refused to listen and tried to blame us while mansplaining and being a rude piece of fecal matter.

Not a Beer drinking. Just stopped in for a quick bit for dinner after work. Had the Mac & Cheese with blackened shrimp. It was pretty good. Some more cheese would be better. I high light is when i lost money that dropped out of my pocket. I called and it was still on the floor. Thanks i will be back

Food and drinks were both great! The chicken on my chicken sandwich wasn’t dry at all and was very flavorful. The truffle Parmesan fries were great! The beer was excellent as well.

Edit: Upon receiving a thoughtful response from Madison Brewing, I'm changing my star rating from 3 to 4. The rudeness of the hostess that evening is not typical and it did not stop us from enjoying a wonderful meal and brew with wonderful service from our familiar waitress. We will go back! Each Labor Day weekend we are vendors at Garlic Fest in Bennington. Each weekend we are excited to dine at Madison's. The beer is good and so is the food. Usually the service is super friendly. Unfortunately, this year was an exception. While we packed up at the event, we sent our daughter and friend down to put our name in for a table. The hostess made them not feel welcome, likely because they are teenagers. They were told there wasn't a table and likely would not be any that night for a large table. But when I went in for a table for 8, I was told the wait would be just 15 minutes. Our waitress, one we had seen in previous years was just as competent and kind as usual. But the hostess.....rude! Kids are people too. In this case they were helping us out while we were packing up after a long, hot day.

Good not great food. Pretzel sticks were greasy ( possibly brushed with butter). Reuben was ok but also, a little greasy. Eggplant provencal was good. Kids pizza & burger with fries satisfied the kids. Service was good.

Sunday lunch time. 4 guys about a 20 minute wait. Food was very good. Had a burger. Cooked just as I asked. Casey was awesome and was much appreciated. Was not able to partake in any of the beers. Was a long way from home. Wanted to buy some but all was fefrgerated and wouldn't have held up on the trip home in the heat

We didn't enjoy ourselves because we didn't expect the music (to be so loud). Besides that, most of food was good, except the pulled pork sandwich. Service was good.

Madison Brewery hosted/ served beer and hard ciders at the Food Truck rally for Battle Day Weekend tonight in downtown Bennington. The band Flashpoint played while I was there, 2 other entertainer acts preceded them. They played 70's and 80's music and they were REALLY GOOD! I have not had so much fun in ages. What a blast! Everyone was dancing and singing along! And the pear/ pineapple hard cider from Little Creek Cider Company (? Not sure I'm remembering the name correctly) was tasty AF! 10/10 would go again.

Omg where to start?! The beer. Outstanding all around. Tried multiple samples from their Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout to their Hefenwizen, every single one was excellent. The food? Superb. Hot and served quickly. Loved the tomato soup!! One of the best I've ever had! If you go to Bennington, this is a must stop!
