Amazing. Had a huge breakfast and the service was so fast friendly!

Ive been passing by this place for the last 12 wks.....Mmmmmmmm 👍 good .. I'm going back before I leave. The "sink " omelet 🔥.. Made me speak in tongue 👅 😜... lol..

Really rude and not customer friendly at all. We had a large group and they refused to let us split up. Would never go here.

Got fruit cup, home fries and toast. Food was good. Wait staff were nice and attentive. Can get a bit noisy at peak breakfast times.

Best fan cakes tbh , super casual feel. I’m an outsider and they were very nice! I got pancakes with fruit in it and it was honestly memorable. Now this was back in 2022 when I went and I still remember !

First time I ever went to a diner where they had 2 open tables & no line of waiting customers and was told it would be an hour wait. Very strange to say the least.

We were told it would be a 20 minute wait we could come back or wait for a table. Within 10 minutes we were seated. We placed our orders. My granddaughter got the breakfast sandwich.i ordered their " famous" pancake with 3 eggs and bacon on the side. We then waited over an hour for our food to be served My granddaughter got hers first. Mine came a few moments later Her sandwich was so greasy the bun was soaked in it. I got my bacon first she came back a few minutes later with the eggs. Another five minutes I got the pancake. By now the eggs were cold and also overcooked. I requested over easy which they were not My pancake was also cold...it was hard on the outside and still doughy inside.the bill was 40 dollar's and change. We didn't finish our meal. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If this is an example of their " famous" food

Had breakfast with a family of 4. Wait staff were lovely and the food was good but it was almost 40 minutes before we were served. From other reviews, this is not uncommon so be aware if you are on a tight schedule. The giant pancake is indeed that. It is huuuuge and thick. It's the size of a small pizza and is more than enough to feed a family of four.

The best food and the nisest staff ever

This place is a must go to. They have the famous pancakes that are huge. If you think you can east all three try it out. The waitress is very fast and nice. If you come to Bennington you must try this place.

What a throwback to the awesome diners of the past! From the 60's music to the red-and-white plaid tablecloths to the very friendly welcome when you walk in the door, this place is a gem. Oh, the pancakes are very good, and the bacon is cooked perfectly.

Likely the best pancake I’ve ever had. Certainly the biggest I’ve ever had. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Absolute perfection.

Slow service, food was ok. I'll come back on a non holiday weekend, for sure. I think the kitchen was overwhelmed by everyone visiting the area.

We discovered this place by accident and now we make sure to go whenever we're close. Great place to have some pancakes, french toast or hash and get to know the vibe of Bennington. The owners know everyone and everyone stops in to see them.

Great food. Great prices. Great atmosphere. It's a small place so you may wait longer for food but it's so worth the wait. The pancakes are huge and tasty. The staff is friendly and hysterical. Highly recommend this place.

Little mom and pop restaurant, the pancakes!

Normally love this place, but someone needs to give coffee to the kitchen. Over medium eggs are not the same as eggs with barely solidified whites.

Plan on a long wait for your order but it was good

We were spending a fall weekend in the area and ate outside, which in and of itself was so kind of the waitress because she was the only one working that morning. She brought out a treat for our dog, and just was so, so kind and funny, fantastic service. Beyond the great service, the giant pancakes (and I do mean giant) were so yummy, as was the bacon. Can't wait to stop back here during our next trip to Vermont, I highly recommend Papa Pete's to anyone in the area!

On a road trip with my guys from NYC… we found this place and it didnt disappoint! The staff were welcoming and friendly! The GIANT pancake is AWESOME! Must get it! Also, make sure to buy the vermont syrup!

Delicious pancakes! We came up to Bennington for the weekend and I had to try the giant pancake once I found out about it. We went on Saturday around 11:15/11:30 hoping to make it in under the wire but they were no longer taking new customers so we went elsewhere. Then Sunday we made sure we got there around 9:30 and were able to get in after about 20 min. It was then about another hour to get our food. We weren't in a rush so it was no problem and had some delicious hot chocolate while we waited. We met some people who drove up from Rochester just for breakfast and said they do it fairly often. I don't know if I'd go that far for this meal, but if you're around and have some time it's delicious.

It was phenomenal! The best breakfast and lunch spot in Bennington! The food, the service, the atmosphere, the authentic and wholesome ingredients used in their food makes this place a 10/10! Can’t beat it!

The food was alright but the wait times were pretty ridiculous. It wasn't busy enough when we went for my sister's egg dish to take over 40 minutes. Foodwise you can tell the focus is the pancakes. They in addition to the homemade corned beef hash were very good, but the rest of my group was very "meh" on their egg dishes.

This lady opened up for us while we were riding by in a motorcycle she was closing so we needed lunch and she opened up just for us and we had an awesome time and the food was great different kind of food.

Stopped here on a very wet Sunday for some brunch with the family while up in Woodford on our annual camping trip up here. The staff and atmosphere felt like home, as I was born in New England and have lived here most of my life. Staff were upfront about an extra wait for food, so we had no surprise there. Food was definitely worth the wait! My eggs Benedict we're seasoned to perfection, and the home fries were easily some of the best I've ever had. The giant pancake was delicious and even fantastic when we reheated our leftovers later on. Kids also loved their food, and appreciated how nice the staff were to them. This is a lovely little family run place, so don't expect a chain restaurant experience and you'll be more than happy with the food and service! My only regret is that we didn't stop here last year too!

Little boy with dirty hands and finger nails put out utensils and brought out food. Unsanitary and unappetizing. One waitress was fine, the other, older dark grey hair & glasses, was very unfriendly. Food was nothing to go back for. Overpriced as well. The decor was depressing. Not the cleanest place. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Would definitely not recommend.

I was looking for a different place for breakfast as I wasn't impressed with previous breakfast spots in Bennington and was glad that I found this place right outside of Bennington in Woodford VT, Home of the Giant Pancakes,I was amazed of how big the pancakes were, My wife wasn't impressed and didn't eat her pancake 🤷I on the other hand enjoyed my breakfast and I would definitely want to return,I have no complaints and would recommend this place if you are looking for a nice cozy place.

If you go through Bennington and don't stop here then you are missing out on a treat. We stopped for breakfast on our way from Niagara Falls to Maine. I had read about the giant pancakes. Forget that ...it's too big. You can't eat one. But Kathy, the lady that runs the place is an absolute gem, and will be your new best friend. It was awesome to watch great old school customer service in action! The food was really good, but to watch a business owner have so much fun with her customers was inspiring!

We had their giant pancake! It's the size of large pizza and deliciously crispy outside with real maple syrup. Also, omelet and eggs Benedict were exceptionally tasty. The owner is one of those people who, when you meet, you know that you will give you the freshest, best food!

Their giant pancakes are as advertised, and the staff is typical Vermont-partly friendly and partly snarky. The other menu items are average. The day I was there, they chose to close 2 hours early on a whim, so call ahead. They are stingy with the maple syrup, be prepared to ask for extra.

Phenomenal service and delicious food as well. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting. The staff were fantastic and funny. Definitely will be returning!

The pancake is indeed giant. Definitely too much for 2 people but we were informed that if you could finish it yourself in under an hour you would get a free tshirt! It was a super small local place run by a local woman who chats with everyone in the restaurant and makes you feel like a local. We also got a breakfast sandwich and the bacon was delicious!!!

Excellent breakfast and conveniently located along Route 9! Very friendly staff and large portions. The “regular” pancake is massive, and they have a Giant one as large as a pizza pan! The omelets, eggs, and home fries were also great!

Food is always amazing. You want a RARE hamburger - order it, it will come out rare. You want a pancake with crispy edges - order it - that’s the way you’ll get it. You want crispy bacon, order it that way - you’ll get it. What I’m trying to say is that this restaurant caters to the wants and needs of the CUSTOMER. And if you want a little sass on the side, you don’t have to order it - it’s on the house. Limited opening: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7AM until Kathy decides to close (usually until 12 or 1)

There is nothing more to say but " Yum ", don't believe me then go pay a visit, the staff are always welcoming to you

Papa Pete's is a nice family restaurant with good food, good people, and good prices for the amount of food you get on your plate, and as good as it is, it's well worth the money. Now, it's 3 years later after the Covid 19 epidemic. My wife took me there for my birthday, January, and I had a Philly cheesesteak omelet with rye toast and potatoes And my wife had 2 eggs sausage and 2 pieces of toast I Wasn't able to finish my breakfast they had a container to go if you want it to put it in and take it with you and I did That's how good the food is there and their pancake it's about as big as a domino's large pizza and Dorothy covid 19 they really help the community by making That pancake and delivery It that was very nice of them. To help out at a time and need.

The owner and server were very friendly and fun to speak to. We were there for breakfast twice. I have never had better omelets large, fluffy and delicious. The over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this establishment!

If you want a greasy spoon diner with an emphasis on pancakes, this is your place. Parking is okay, and the interior is pretty small but cozy. Staff are outgoing and nice. There’s nothing really out of the ordinary with the menu - pretty standard eggs/bacon/toast etc although they do have “giant” pancakes for all you pancake lovers. Food was decent.

Really enjoyed the service and the food was excellent. The giant pancake is not a lie, it was pizza-sized, very thick, and somehow perfectly cooked without being hard on the outside or undercooked in the middle. A huge, perfect, fluffy pancake that barely fit on a pizza pan.

Really like this place, the food is great. Especially the giant pancake. The only drawback is the speed of getting the food (super slow) and they close 30 before the posted time online. So if you arrive too close to closing time, you will miss it . Worth the visit and if you are up to a food challenge try to break the record and eat 3 or more giant pancakes. The record holder ate four.

Kathy (the owner) of Papa Pete's is a joy to meet and treats you like family. I feel blessed to have met her. She is a gem in the restaurant business! We will be back!

We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful fall Saturday morning- the staff was funny and kind, and the food was delicious. When we entered the staff let us know the kitchen was backed up- and we truly appreciated the honesty and being so upfront and decided to stay. It was well worth the wait, the giant pancake was AMAZING and the Monte Cristo was out of this world. The locals at the restaurant treated us like neighbors, even though we had never been to Vermont. Grateful for the chance to visit such a lovely, family owned restaurant- and can't wait to return.

Great experience and felt like a local when we visited Papa Pete’s from out of town. The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the famous pancake with banana, kitchen sink omelette and Granny Smith apples omelette. All delicious!!! Ps. This is the smaller pancake!! We will have to be back for the 14” and bring some friends.

Felt very unwelcome, still don't understand why they had us wait outside when there was plenty of seating inside. I get they had to clean but I'd rather wait at a table then cold outside. It's alright, we're ended up at BlueBens, delicious.

I cannot rave about this place enough. Not only were the pancakes giant, they were AMAZING. The Vermosa (apple cider and champagne) was INCREDIBLE. Owner and chef made us feel like locals. This is a MUST VISIT. Even if it adds time to the trip you will not be disappointed

Ive been going to p.p for years ,great food , fantastic tasting, and clean, the service is friendly and fantastic. Great place to eat , hours of operation may vary.

USED TO BE SO AFFORDABLE, NOW THE PRICES ARE REALLY HIGH SINCE THEY HSVE BECOME KNIWN ALL OVER. I LIVE JUST DOWN THE ROAD, GLAD THEIR GETTING LOTS OF BUSINESS, BUT THERE NOT OPEN THAT MYCH LIKE THEY USED TO BE A FEW YEARS BACK.

8 of us stopped in, which is a rather large group for this amazing breakfast dinner. The staff was extremely friendly, and very attentive. Everyone's order was delicious, and served promptly. Also when it comes to today's inflation, it was also a great deal. I really could find no fault, and will definitely be returning!!!

They say that they serve breakfast and lunch all day! How can they? Their only open for 5 hours! They close at lunch time!

Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! We shared a plain small pancake, a Philly Cheesesteak Omelet, and a traditional breakfast with over easy eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the pancake was easily one of the best, if not the best, pancake we had ever ate! The friendly service and staff tied it all together, and made it feel like home! Great stuff, we were really happy we stopped in!!

Service was great and my mimosa and food was delicious. Kitchen was a little behind but I am sure it was not by choice probably just a bit under staffed which a lot of businesses are struggling with these days or it was due to making those giant pancakes which take up their entire grill I heard one of the servers say. A great breakfast to start the day! Papa Pete's delivered on quality and quantity to get our family of four ready for a day of adventure in Southern VT.

Somebody gave us a gift card for Papa Pete's during our trip to Vermont; of course, you ordered pancakes. I used to order at least two pancakes at other restaurants, so I did the same at Papa Pete's. The pancakes are BIG, and only one is enough if you are hungry.

I stopped this morning with my wife and 3 kids. This place is awesome. The food was great. The waitress and owner were very professional, personable, and courteous. Well worth stopping in. I will definitely be going here in the future.

Such a great experience. Food is high quality- I think she sources locally. Bacon was cooked perfectly and while we regretted not getting the giant pancake, we did sample a smaller one and it was phenomenal. Looking forward to taking the kids back to try it!

Always a good meal with exceptional staff

We visited here while on vacation, and it was an absolute delight. The food was good, but what really made it was so sweet and lovely the servers and cooks were. They really made us feel welcome and at home there even though we were tourists. 100% recommend!!

I had the lumberjack breakfast. Plenty of food cooked to perfection. Crumbled one slice of my crispy bacon on the pancake and drowned it in real Vermont maple syrup. Breakfast dessert!

Absolutely delicious homemade corned beef hash. Service, by owner, was delightful. Coffee always warm, everything as we asked for. Price on the high side for town, but worth it.

Have been there twice and both times were absolutely fantastic. Kind of shocked that there are people complaining about hospitality - everyone working was very sweet and accommodating both times. Eggs Benedict w corn beef was bomb sans the green peppers, SEC breakfast sandwich one of the best I've ever had. Going to be hard not to stop here every time I go skiing.

Cute diner with fair prices and food that tastes home cooked. The server was funny, honest with wait times because they were busy, and seemed to genuinely appreciate us as customers.
