Excellent service and atmosphere. However the quality of the food needs improvement. ☹️

My husband and I have been wanting to stop by this burger joint for a while now. Today we decided to go and I was highly disappointed. I ordered a burger with pepper jack cheese, well done. The presentation was nice but the burger was not what I expected. The patty was bland, as if they took the ground beef made a patty and off it went. No seasoning at all. I had to add lots of salt. The middle of my burger was pink, which I left on the plate. The fries must of come from a bag of old frozen fries. They were not tasty at all and must of been sitting in the back waiting for me. Our server was a nice sweet young lady she deserves the four stars. My husband said his burger was “good.” We have decided not to go back this place.

We went for burgers yesterday. They were very good and huge. Fries and onion rings were good also.

Stopped in for lunch and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, our server was spot on, the place was clean, and the owner stopped by every table to chat. The prices were decent for the amount served and they had three ipa beers on draft. We would definitely return.

Hamburger bun was old. Onion rings were not done all the way. I actually got really sick a couple hours later. We will not be going back.

Came here for dinner on a very busy night. Had to wait at front door for several minutes to be seated. Staff walking back and forth and didn’t acknowledge us. Just about to leave and finally someone walked over. They were super busy so we understood, once seated they were very attentive. Two people at our table ordered burgers and said they were very good. I ordered chicken strips. They were awful. Fryer oil needs to be changed because they had a really bad taste. And not sure what part of the chicken they were from but they were so fatty and chewy. So stick to burgers if coming here I guess.

Walking into this restaurant feels like stepping into a bad dream. Cow-themed booths are lit by chandeliers reminiscent of Disney's Haunted Mansion. It does not inspire confidence that a good meal is coming. I really didn't like it. I'm not really sure what they are trying to exude. It's Liberace's worst nightmare. Over the top! Next came a server that called us her "loves." Somewhat condescending. She was efficient and friendly, but the fake usage of the word had our eyes rolling. Our burgers were great, but expensive. But the ambiance turned me off. I'd much prefer a modern, sleek restaurant and not some place that looks like a strip joint.

Service depends on who you get. But they have Loyalty program and daily deals so go anyway. I'd like to see the menu expanded. Esp the appetizers. Usually there's a special of the day, Good staff and kitchen runs well, as I see food being brought out while it's hot! Hamburgers/ hot dogs seem to sell a lot. Onion rings are the best around.

We went here for breakfast on a Sunday. It was not busy, and the service was slow and a bit disorganized. I ordered an omelet, and it was good. The hashbrowns were the frozen pre-made triangle type that you might get at a fast food restaurant. There were 5 of us and there were 3 issues with getting the correct order. I hear after breakfast the food and service are good, but they have some work to do to fix breakfast.

They were great when they first opened but now the food is terrible and the place is dirty.

I miss having one in the Tampa Bay Area. Only having one location remaining has caused a few of my favorites to be removed from the menu, like The Greek Lamb Burger, and the Square 1 Red Ale. Also I ordered my burger on a bed of greens which used to be almost as much mixed greens as ordering a salad. Instead of Burger salad, I got about the same amount of greens as was on my wife's burger. Those gripes aside, the burger was everything I expected from Square 1, perfectly seasoned, properly cooked, and the service was exceptional despite our arriving within an hour of closing time.

Burger and beer special on Tuesdays. Good stuff.

We had a large group, 12 people, and we had excellent service and food. Once again, 12 people with a reservation and everything was excellent.

My only suggestion is never skimp on French fries. The world loves them and, like them, crispy. The place is roomy, and the decor is Square ( unique theme). See what I did there. Our server Kay Kay ( hope she spells it that way) was a ball of joy to our day. I would go back.

Worst Burger I've ever had, Culver's Is better and cheaper and service is better. Even Lollygaggers has a better Burger and service.

Lame Outdated Food, A lot of which they Buy from the Winn-Dixie next door. Your Tater Tots, Sweet Potato Fries, Salads, and more from the Grocery Store. Also, DO NOT ORDER VEGAN IF YOU ARE REALLY VEGAN! The vegan burgers they use are DEEP FRIED IN FOOD WITH CHICKEN AND FISH. They say they have a dedicated fryer for the Vegan Burgers, They are lying. The Female GM has a knack for Threatening her Employees Both Front and Back of House with Violence and Constantly reminds everyone that she "Hasn't had her meds in days". The Owner has this "You will do what I say" attitude about everything, which explains why they lost 10 of their 11 locations. There's a million better "Burger Bars" in town and I can't wait to watch this place go under.

I waited 10 minutes for a table (not busy 2:15 in the afternoon) was taken to back wall across from kitchen opening. Probably only dirty table in there. Disgusting and will not go back.

From New Mexico. Our server Savannah was fantastic. They made a special burger with Mac & cheese for the wife.

It is a hit or a mess for the quality of the burger. The time wait for your food can be 35 minutes and the restaurant is not busy, less than half full. It used to be our favorite place to go. It appears that they can’t keep their cooks. Weight staff has always been a plus.

Great place to get mix of food. Great grill cheese and haddock sandwitxh. Tasted fantastic...Great onion rings and other specials. Definitely recommend a visit.

Draft beer was the coldest I’ve ever had at a restaurant! Unfortunately my medium burger came out well done…

Our waiter Kyle is absolutely wonderful. He's extremely nice and very attentive. He has a great personality working with the public and that's very rare these days.

Service slow, burgers were pretty good

My wife and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, let me tell you save your time and your money! Ordered take out at 8:04. Went to pick it up at 8:45. Turns out they forgot to put my order in. That’s okay things happen. They apologized for it. Had my food out pretty fast. I ordered 2 burgers. 1 being the Swiss burger. Here you can customize your burgers for additional charges. Added avocado. Got home realized there’s no avocado. Or the sauce THAT COMES ON THE BURGER! Called them and was met with an attitude how they can’t really do much. And condescending “you want a refund because there’s no avocado”. Yes. The avocado that I paid an additional charge for, no sauce that’s suppose to be on it like stated on the menu. And my hour wait for 2 burgers that you guys forgot about. First time there and I’ll NEVER be returning! Food doesn’t even look appetizing (sauce on side is blue cheese for fries)

The waiter was very funny and engaging, the food was delicious especially the sauces, and the restaurant was cute and clean! It's probably our favorite restaurant in the Villages so far!

They need more bartenders at the bar inside and out terrible service tonight. Food delivery person was a better service than the bartender. Bartender was more important to sell her husband's side business than waiting on the customer.

Wennnt there with another couple who raved about this place this week. My wife ordered the all American burger medium, and I ordered the bacon and pulled pork topped burger no bun. The server was very good but our burgers came out before we finished our soup. The burgers were both very well done hockey pucks, but we didn’t want to upset our friends so we didn’t send them back. The pulled pork was also dry stale and had no bbq sauce like the description said it did. After leaving the other couple said that the food was off also. The two stars are for the waiter and clean bathrooms. The food gets a zero even the three onion rings they forgot then brought out were cold. Do yourself a favor go to five guys or Culver’s or even McDonald’s is better. They got us once but we won’t be back.

We've eaten at Square 1 numerous times. One of my favorite restaurants. The menu selection is varied, and prices are reasonable. The last two times we were there, Nicole was our waitress. She's very personable and on the ball. I would ask to sit in her section any time.

This place claims to have the best burgers in The Villages , not even close. I’m being generous giving them three stars as the burger was average at best and the fries looked like the frozen type. Everything was ok and nothing was memorable. I will not be back!

The food was not worth the money. It was so bland and no flavor. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was decent. We will never eat here again though and would never recommend. We had 2 burgers, onion rings, Mac n cheese and the ranch and chipotle ranch. Nothing would we ever get again. Our server was the only good thing.

Onion rings were delicious. But the burgers were overcooked and the cheese in the center was cold. I had the juicy Lucy.

Had not been here in quite a while and had an excellent experience tonight. Our waitress, Nicole, was fun and enthusiastic, made some good recommendations, and periodically checked in with us. My “ Turkey Cobb” burger was very tasty and an unusual burger presentation, and my companion really enjoyed her mushroom burger. We will definitely be back.

Nice facility and help is good. BUT the burger was dried up, no or very little flavor. Fries were soggy, bread was excellent though.

The food was alright, our wings were undercooked but the flavor was there. It is a friendly enough place, but not truly giving an above average effort or feel. They are okay, but the seasoning to burgers isn't great just fairly okay.

My husband and I recently went here for dinner. Love that they have tater tots as a side option. Our waitress was Nicole, and she was really fun and helped us out with the menu.

I.am.a truck driver.stayrd in the area overnight. My son and daughter in law came to visit. We choice square 1 to eat. The food was awesome. If in the in the area again will go back

Service was horrible, mixed drinks were very weak so we didn’t order two, food was just middle of the road at best. Probably one of the worst experiences we’ve had in The Villages. Not only will I avoid going here again I will warn people about this place. Go somewhere else.

Loved this place. Went for lunch, the burgers were big. Waitress was great. I would go back and take friends. Unusual decor but that's why it's fun to go to as well as for the food. They even have a big seating area outside. They have a bar.

They were switching shifts and only 2 waitresses had the entire restaurant. I said that so I could give my waitress all the props I can. She did fabulous handling her tables. Was fast and courteous. Also the food was fresh and Delicious. I had the blackened haddock dinner. Delicious. I do wished they offered a small house salad. That's all 😁

Not sure how to even rate my experience. It took 2 hrs to get our food, French fries were cold, had to ask several times to get our drinks, when questioning about our drink the bartender gave us attitude. Not once did anybody come to our table to apologize for the long wait. Several tables around us were also upset with the situation. Cannot and will not ever recommend this place. First and last time....

Our server, Conner, was very hospitable. However, the food was disappointing. My friend ordered chopped steak, which turned out being a burger patty but with no bun. And another party member with me got food poisoning.

Great burgers. Go on Wednesday when they have their onion ring special....very good! I saved one for the burger and added it. Atmosphere is so cute. Very different but fun!

I came in for a cocktail, the service was slow, I ordered a well vodka, and was charged $8.00, and it was a full shot. The price was ridiculous.

Astonishingly mediocre. Fried pickles were barely coated with breading and served looking like circles of withered leather. Burgers not cooked to temp requested: medium came out rare, medium-well came out medium rare and the burgers themselves were bland AF - like, void of seasoning. $60+ wasted. First and last time I’ll ever patronize this place.

Originally a 5 star restaurant. Best house made veggie burger in town. But they now serve a generic black bean burger that doesn’t hold a candle to the original. Sweet potato fries are very good, American burger doubled satisfies the meat eaters, never have room for dessert. Lovely dog friendly patio. Ask for the doggie menu.

Always a great experience at Square 1. The burgers are excellent and I like that they ask how you want it prepared. The onion rings are the best I've found in central Florida.

Burgers were awesome. It was packed the night we were there, but the staff hustled. A great place to go for a great meal and not break the bank.

Love the eclectic atmosphere, great burgers, onion rings, happy hour drink specials, and the service was great. Tiffany was our server and took good care of us. We will definitely be going back. The new Owner is really working to improve this restaurant

We have been to the Sunday brunch for the last 4 wks. Great food and service. The overall atmosphere has changed and is very pleasant for a Sunday breakfast after golf!

We read what a great burger place this was and had to give it a try. The onion rings are delicious!!! I'd eat those again, however my medium rare burger was completely raw. They did pleasantly take it back to "fix" it. A manager came out of the kitchen with the new burger, feeling bad I asked "oh, they had to remake it?" Instead of saying "no problem" or we want the customer happy, he barked "yes, it's a law that once you bite into it now we HAVE to remake it. Then he stood there by the table just staring at me and finally said, "well, I need you to cut into this one" .... so I did. He asked if it was ok. I replied, "it's way beyond medium rare but at least it's not raw!" And he said "ok" and walked away! My husband discussed it with the waitress and finally got it taken off the bill, however the experience was less than pleasant. On a side note, the grilled onions on the burger tasted old or rancid, either way, not great!

I was picking up an order for the first time the other evening (12/13/20 @ 7:35pm). The atmosphere was fantastic and the layout of the indoor and outdoor areas were impeccable. The only reason for the 3 stars is because I was given someone else's order and hadn't realized until I arrived home. Had it been a busy or hectic night I'd usually write such an occurrence off. However, there were no more than 10 patrons total in the entire establishment, and checking the accuracy/ensuring the correct order goes to the correct person is a must. I suffer from Crohn's disease so I have particular dietary restrictions that preclude me from eating hard to digest things, such as whole grain buns which the incorrect order I received had. But despite the misstep in attention to detail, the burger (one the bun was removed) was cooked and seasoned to deliciousness. I'll be updating my review once I'm able to try something I've actually ordered, and I look forward to trying it.

My burger was prepared perfectly. And the CARROT CAKE was out of this world delicious. Tiffany was a great server and had a welcoming and infectious smile. We will be back.

It’s worth coming here just for the décor - the combination of cow hides, French chandeliers, parent leather, and wall art creates a unique sensory experience before the food even arrives. 😄 The food and desserts are great too.

I specifically asked that no mushrooms. It came with it. Had to pick them off. Staff seemed confused on the bill for everyone. I personally will not go again. Service was very slow as well. Seems the people were over their head with managing.

I took my neighbor there for her birthday I enjoyed the food and it’s a beautiful area.

We drive about 40 minutes a couple times a year. This lunch visit was a huge disappointment. We had fried pickle appetizer which was very good. The entree was 2 burgers and 2 waters and the bill ended up nearly $50. It was 36 minutes from placing order to burgers arriving (appetizers did come during that time). Burgers were not tasty. One was ordered "on a bed of lettuce" which meant about three forks of shredded lettuce, beside that the burger and cheese, and beside that the other toppings. We expected it to look more like a salad with a completed burger on top. We were disappointed.

Loved the decor. Service was good. The hamburger called double double cheese burger was huge. The meatloaf was okay not like momma's meatloaf. Mac and cheese okay. I didn't like the green beans. French fries were good.

I had not been to Square 1 for a while, but it had great burgers and I loved the onion rings with the great dipping sauce, however, apparently, there is a new owner as of March and now the burger patty seemed much smaller than I remember and the great dipping sauce is now just a version of Ranch dressing. I think they probably had to cheapen what they sell or would have to charge more for the previous great food. I’ve been going there for years, but doubt if I’ll be back as there is a great burger and a lot more, just a few doors down from them at Darrell’s in Pinellas Plaza.

They have the best burgers in The Villages! Ton of yummy food. Mix drinks. Great service too. Atmosphere is unique! Great date nite!
