This was my first time dining at The Huntsman, and I can surely tell you that it was spectacular. From the moment we walked in the door we felt very welcomed. In fact, our server Luis made it such a special night. He was such a joy to talk to and he explained every item so eloquently and suggested the loveliest wine for us. Can't wait to come back!

visited tallahassee for the first time and came here with my sister! the mango #5 and the filet with crispy Brussel sprouts with the wild boar bacconaise was AMAZING! wouldn’t have known what to choose without the help of our amazing server, Stephanie!

I’ve spent many nights at The Huntsman, and I can say undoubtedly that the food and the service staff is incredible. The one that stands out is Cameron. Dined at The Huntsman while visiting family in Tallahassee. Was a little skeptical about coming here as a veggie, but was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options they had. Stephanie was really sweet and helped me navigate the veggie options on the menu. The chili crush cauliflower and the nam khoa todd were both top notch. Will totally come back again on my next Tallahassee visit.

After hearing about The Huntsman for quite awhile, I was finally able to experience the wonderful atmosphere, taste the excellent food and beverages, and enjoy top notch service. Everyone was fantastic, but special kudos to Kumi, who brought the whole evening together for me!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food & service. Stephanie gave us top tier recommendations. I ordered the New Orleans shrimp and scallops & my boyfriend ordered The General Tso Lamb Belly. She also recommended the Down & Dirty cocktail and I must say it hit the spot. Will def be back and requesting Stephanie’s section for new suggestions.

This place is a cant miss. From the friendly Bartender (A sweet Asian Women whose name I unfortunately missed) who recommended a number of great dishes and drinks to Luis (this man is mentioned in so many reviews I would simply say its no surprise once he serves you. Bravo Sir!) The food was incredible and I will return whenever I can. Easy 10/10

Went to the Huntsman recently for a special event. As usual, Luis was the best at helping with our menu and wine selections. The bison ribeye was succulent and perfectly seasoned. The fire roasted oysters and tuna poke were outstanding. And don't miss out on the tallow toast. Thanks again for a lovely experience.

Great service by Luis who seemed to be psychic! His recommendations of smoked octopus and fire roasted oysters as appetizers before splitting the duck (with boar bacon!) was a perfect call since we would have been too full if we hadn't done that. Wish we could have tried more on the menu, but that just means more return trips to Tallahassee. Almost forgot, the beautiful social butterfly cocktail was a great choice for a predinner drink for those of us who don't always enjoy gin but this made me make an exception (not too strong of a gin taste).

The summer seasonal menu that started at the beginning of July 2024 was definitely worth the time and money for us. Ordered 4 appetisers and 2 mains for two people. Probably enough to feed 4 regular people. Total was $144 after automatic 18% gratuity! I loved pretty much everything about the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

After so much time of wanting to go to The Huntsman, we finally went and they exceeded all expectations. The menu is bold and represents the pinnacle of American dining, this is no Venetian nibbles by the candlelight spot and we’re very pleased about this! Our server, Luis, is a master of seamless service and we’re very grateful to him for his guiding us in this delectable soirée.

His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine friendliness made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Luis ensured that our every need was met, and his recommendations were spot on. If we’re ever in the Tallahassee area, we wouldn’t hesitate to dine at the Huntsman again.

Kudos to the chef for an amazing meal recommended by our server Sydney who I also can’t recommend enough if you get a choice. My husband had the gaillo rubbed antelope and had enough left over for me to have a bite after we got home and it was still delicious!

My party had a fantastic sever named Sydney. She was so sweet and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was helpful as it was our first time there. We will definitely be back and will request Sydney as our sever again.

The new menu is absolutely amazing!! This is a perfect place for date night or any special occasion or just because it’s a Wednesday. The food is incredibly well executed and the flavors are always spot on. The staff is always excellent and you can tell they care about your experience. Cameron is a rockstar and treats every table like they are his favorite.

My husband and I had another amazing meal at the Huntsman! We go each menu change. Our favorite dish was the octopus appetizer which our server Cameron suggested. Cameron has been our server many times and is always so knowledgeable about the menu and always makes great suggestions. Highly recommend!

Awesome new menu. Definitely Tallahassee' best restaurant. They've created a really well-oiled machine, changing over whole menus every 3 months so that the guests feel excited and get to experience new dishes. My favorite new dishes you gottra try: The Tallow Toast, Country Fried South Texas Antelope! say that again to yourself. Country. Fried. Antelope (with mashed potatoes and black pepper gravy). Insane. My favorite new dessert is a traditional Greek cake called Portokalopita (orange cake with phyllo and syrup. So good. Kumi gave great service and helped guide us through the experience!

The new menu is fantastic and because they work as a team, I am able to say that both Stephanie AND Jared were fantastic while helping us out with everything. The new Octopus appetizer is INSANELY delicious. I will be having this dish a lot over the next 3 months. The pork chop is a beautiful and tasty dish as well. My cocktail was the Social Butterfly, a somewhat boozy gin cocktail that's perfectly balanced and smooth drinking.

Great food, amazing waitress…but the whole time I was there I couldn’t help to notice the manager greeting and approaching every table but ours. Did we not spend enough? Were we the wrong color? Did we not fit the right profile? Did we need to buy a wine bottle? Would stare us down, but not once did he approach nor say a word to us. We’re just curious what it would’ve it took? Other than that…oh and they didn’t have the a5 wagyu. But other than being profiled it was a great experience

We made dinner reservations for 3 to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were greeted upon arrival and seated promptly. The service was excellent—staff were attentive, and gave us recommendations as they had just changed their menu a day prior. We had the octopus and oysters for appetizers. As for entrees, the ribeye with lobster, antelope, and canard au vin (seared duck breast). I would return just for the seared duck alone! All in all, we thought everything was delicious, including the cocktails. Thank you to the staff for making this celebration a success and we hope to be back again sometime soon. :) *Do note that 18% gratuity is included in the cheque, but we didn’t mind.

This place had amazing food, waitress and environment. We went on a Monday which means it wasn’t a full place and very few tables. The issue came when we saw the Manager acknowledging all tables, even taking a few dishes saying hi and bye to people coming in and out however , completely ignored my husband and I. Not sure if we looked a little tanner than him 🤣, or didn’t spend enough, or what the issue was with us. I disliked feeling discriminated and will definitely not go back. Hope the Manager learns to treat everyone the same no matter how they look 🙃.

Overall, great food with a couple of missteps that I’m hoping were due to it being the last day of this menu. A wood fired version of a mostly surf surf and turf was very good except for the steak, which was kindof gray and rubbery like it’d been cooked in a crowded pan or something and I would have liked it to be a little more substantial. They replaced the steak with wood fired seared steak that was rare in the middle and was delicious. Antelope tartare appetizer was tasty but unevenly portioned and needed more kimchi. I’ve never had professionally prepared bone marrow and it was really great. The French onion soup was inedible, as in not hot, too-sweet broth, disintegrated onion, and rubbery cheese and we sent it back after only tasting it. The elk tenderloin with some kind of demi was excellent; I think my son’s calling it “meat butter” was apropos and it was my favorite bite of the meal. The lamb with olive oil whipped potatoes was great as were the steak fries. I was not a fan of an 18% gratuity being added automatically. What I was really not a fan of was that when I pointed out that the soup had not been taken off the bill, I was met with resistance and an “I’ll have to ask my manager.” as if they were going to make me pay for something that was so poorly executed that it was sent back uneaten and that soured my evening. Still giving them four stars because some of the food was excellent and my family had a good time and again hoping that this was due to this being the last day of the older menu.

This place flew below my radar until I visited recently. Jared, my bartender, should be called a "star"tender. He's attentive and knowledgeable. An absolute must if you enjoy a more refined cocktail experience. They'll take good care of you!

Happy Hour is the best here! I come not only for the amazing drinks but also the awesome bartender Jared. He is incredibly knowledgeable and makes mixology interesting and approachable! Would recommend this spot to anyone!
